Just had calls from this number twice - any idea who it is

just had a call who are they

They just called me too! Didn't answer, so no idea who they are.

Called me yesterday did not answer. As usual - no message. Just an annoying pest. They bug you though when you don't know what it is about and if it is important. How they think they can call your number whenever it suits them when you are X directory and on TPS. What can be done to stop these chancers once and for all?

They claimed I had a responsibility to do something about malicious software and mal-ware on my computer. This is rubbish as they have no way of knowing what is on my computers. My mother-in-law had a similar call last month and I told her to ignore it but this chap was VERY rude and even shouted down the phone at me. Completely unacceptable.

They called us twice tell us that we downloaded a file and is illegal. Infact we had donloaded no file and have a well protected firewall.This is just a way of fooling into scaming you

They called us 3 times in the last week.  Saying they are lettign me know about junk files on my computer which could cause problems.  Wanted me to turn on my computer (it was on already) so they copuld tell me what to do.  I didn't catch the name of the company clearly - the man had an indian accent which I couldn't easily understand.  He kept saying the same thing over again, so clearly readingfrom a script iotherwise he would have answered a question when I asked it.

Had a call from them this morning.  Said my computer had downloaded a virus from the server and they wanted me to turn my computer on so he could tell me how to get rid of it.  I was immediately suspicious as he was vague about who he was from.  He had a very strong Indian accent which was hard to understand.  I asked him which server it was from and he would not answer and kept telling me I wasn't listening to him and would not let him finish speaking...this was because he was not answering my question about the server and kept waffling on about something else.  In the end he hung up on me!!

Same as previous comments. There is a problem with your computer turn it on. Strong Indian accent. You really have to think about every phone call, message and email you get

When I have established that the call is illegal, I blow a shepherd's whistle into the microphone.

This person has been ringing my phone number and keeps telling me that I have a problem on my computer and he will fix it. It is a scam.

Several calls. No voice.

Twice today, apparently about a problem with my computer. When asked where they got my number from, they hung up. Clearly a scam. Next time I will threaten with police...

i had a call from this number, i went along with it they told me i have a number of viruses on my computer, they then asked me for a 1 off payment which i never paid, but now im worried because i did what they asked me to do on my laptop, and dont know if they could of some how got into my laptop through me doing this, as im really not clued up on computers can anyone advise me wether this is possible to hack into my laptop ??? xx

If you gave them remote access to your computer you should get it checked out locally.  If you do online banking and anything involving passwords you may need to change the details. This scam was highlightes on "You've been Scammed", BBC1, last November.  These people try to get remote access to your computer and will install spyware/malware to steal your info.  They tend to ask for money after they have got access, so if you refuse and end the call, the damage has been done. The Director of Security for Microsoft said, on the programme, that neither Microsoft nor its partners would ever 'phone you.  It would be a breach of their privacy rules. Remember, no-one who 'phones like this knows anything about your computer. They work on fear and lack of computer knowledge.  The latest twist is to give you a serial number and tell you where to find it on your machines.  They tell you this number is unique to your machine and that is how they know which machine is sending the mesages.  This is a lie.  The number is the Windows Licence number and is the same on every computer in the world running Windows.

I thought I'd got rid of them about a year ago, and I just received another call.  Same description - Indian voice - saying he was caling about a virus on my computer.  This time, I just told him I didn't have a computer and he hung up!

Massive scam, they call me all the time (even though I am registered with TPS).  When I see this number I now ignore it.  They actually got quite rude with me when I told them to stop calling me!

If you have online banking etc, it might be worth giving your bank a call to see if they can keep an eye on any 'unusual' transactions on your account.  Also would change all passwords and get your computer checked out, hope it is all okay

Just received a call from this number and the call appeared to be transferred elsewhere so we hung up. I've just done a status update on Facebook to let people know about this scam and to encourage gullible friends and family to be on the look out for these types of calls and either hang up or blow a whistle down the phone!

i had a phone call today from this number they would not put the phone down when i hung up on them my number can not be got from any where
