I got 3 calls from them in 1 day.  Caller claims to be from Microsoft Windows; says they have been monitoring a high number of problems with my Windows, and on my keyboard I must hold down the Windows key and the R key simultaneously, and they will give me instructions to run some type of diagnostic.....I was very suspicious because the call came from the weird area code phone # of "080-072-4469". I told him I was suspicious and wanted proof that he was from Windows; he put his supervisor Paul on the line. I again said I wanted a # to call them back on to prove they were from Windows and he said to call 424-256-3700.  I did not call them back. I ran a McAfee virus scan and everything is OK on my computer.  These are scammers!!

Correct.  This is about the oldest scam out there.  They pretend to be from Microsoft, which is a lie as Microsoft and its partners never 'phone.  These pests know nothing about your computer, they don't even know if you have a pc or a Mac.  They rely on scare tactics and lack of computer knowledge to try and get remote access to your computer.  If they get it they will install spyware/malware to steal your personal information, like bank details and passwords.  On "You've been Scammed" yesterday on BBC TV it was explained that some of these scammers have a new trick.  They ask for your WiFi password.  Apparently they can get into your computer with this, just as if you had given them remote access.  Please warn your friends about this.

Someone called from 080-072-4469 but I did not answer it.
After a couple of minutes, I googled the number and saw where it was not a good call to answer.
