I've just had a call from this number asking for my boyfriend (who was out at the time), the guy said it was just a courtesy call and that he would call back later.

I thought I would look the number up as we've been getting quite a few calls from unknown companies lately, after reading a few of these comments I remember that we entered a competition to win an Audi online recently and the website was planet49, whether or not this is a scam I don't know.

I'm wondering if anyone who is receiving an abundance of unknown calls lately has used the i-points website? I can't think of any other connection.

Yep I get regular calls from this number too. I just reject them. Reading these comments, glad I have!

i was asked no i was hastled for my bank details and sort code, like a fool i gave it. now i cant get in touch with the company that called me. i am so ashamed dont know what to do.

We got lots of calls from Telegen. We told them to stop but they just carry on.  Sometimes as much as five times in a day. We have never gone in for any lottery and we are ex-directory and on TPS.  What more can we do?  How can they be stopped?  Anyone know?

same happened to me. lottery scam..yes i gave account details and sort code. then thought oh my god what have i done. so to anyone else that has also done this follow these steps.
1. phone telegen on 01273341000
2. explain your situation and ask that all information about you is deleted including your account information and sort code.
3. if you dont get a call back within 2 hours call again and ask to speak to Mark Makinley and proceed to have your information removed.

I did this, had to call them back and demand that my information is deleted and that no monies would be removed from my account ever by them or anyone they are selling for.

This is not a scam from telegen but it is a pain in the a** with all the calls. I will be checking my account to see what happens and if they take money then they will be in some big trouble.

How persuasive must these guys be to actually get people to give their bank account details?

If you receive calls from this number wait till they hang up. Ring them back and listen to the automated message press 1 and your number will be removed

i have been receiving calls from this number all weekend and it started again today.. i have answered it and no one is there.. if i dont pick it up then it will leave an answerphone message of nothing.. so then i have to pay to pick up nothing on the answerphone..

This is getting a bit of a nitemare.

We had calls from these people and we did press "1" to stop them, but they continued. We think that pressing "1" just confirms that your number is real and doesn't stop them at all. As everyone knows about Telegen and their cold calling why can't someone stop it? Surely it's illegal, isn't it?

01273 344100 is their Head office in Brighton, though it seems that you won't get far with complaints to them.  For really good research, type in 08009121695, navigate to page 6 and read what Edmund has written. Finally, keep complaining online to OFCOM. I am sure that if they are contacted enough times they will do something to get the public off their backs!

I received a call from this number. The lady was mentioning something about a raffle draw from Eurotrans? Anyway, I just told her I never entered any raffle draw whatsoever and she said she'll just send the details by post.

I KEEP GETTING THESE CALLS SAYING DO I WANT TO JOIN THEIR SYNDICATE, THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO RING WHEN I AM MAKING A CUP OF TEA, I TELL THEM I AM NOT INTERESTED

I have had this number call my mobile about 3 times a day. I won't answer as they won't leave a message and I can only assume they're not leaving a message because they know I won't want to talk to them.. WHO ARE THEY ?????

I get about 2 of these calls a day. getting my own back now, Called Telegen 5 times in a row, the fist time I said, Hello, just calling to "P" you off for a change and hung up:) the 4 times straight after I just said, "Annoying aint it" and hung up.. Might not solve the problem but By Christ! it makes you feel better:))

This number calls me 3 or 4 times a day, if i answer the call there is just silence.

We had trouble with Telegen some while back, then they gave up.  Now they just started again. Silent calls, sometimes 3 or 4 in a day. We have reported it to Ofcom this time.  Can no-one do anything about the Telegen problem? Good contribution from Huw Slater above - thanks for the useful website.

I have received 8 calls in last few days.I answered 1 but they hung up when I spoke.I have a pay as you go phone so do not know how they have my number. Is there any solution to the problem??
