Telegen also subscribe to the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and screen calling lists against the TPS to remove registered numbers.  However some clients provide us with data lists that have occasionally been collected on partners’ websites whereby people have given their number in a competition or survey and requested a call, therefore these numbers do not require screening against TPS as these people have given their permission to be called (As they have requested a call by giving their number we cannot screen them against TPS, otherwise they would not get the call they had requested).  We are generally calling you on behalf of one of our clients to offer you their products and services. Under OFCOM regulations we are not permitted to leave marketing messages.  You will have noticed if you dialled 1471 that we explained who we are and did not attempt to conceal our identity.  If you do not wish to be contacted by us in the future simply email your phone number to info@telegenuk.com and we will remove you from our calling lists in line with OFCOM Regulations.

I have had several calls from this number. It is a plain nuisance and I suggest unless this company (and others who do the same)dont want to get in serious trouble, they stop this pointless nonsense! It is also a shame that people pass on client phone numbers to third parties even when stated clearly on applications, CVs etc not to do this.

I have been following the Telegen story for a while. So far Telegen have put five notices on this forum saying they are sorry for being a nuisance. So how is it that they are sorry but keep on doing it?

Hi,  I have some good news. I had the same problem with niusance calls from 08009121698 and I have managed to stop it and solve the problem. The company hiding under this number is TELEGEN UK. I simply send them an email saying that I want them to stop calling me and stating my mobile number. Ten minutes later the problem was solved as they suppresed my details and all the calls stopped. Also I asked about how did they get my number and the answer from Lizzie Roberts (Project Manager @Telegen) is below:

'I have received a query regarding the phone calls you were receiving from DTD. Eurochance 100 is a Euro Millions lottery syndicate campaign. You data source was from one of our partner companies where you had entered into a competition either within a shopping centre or site marketing venue to win a Car or £500,000 and as a result your details where supplied to us to offer you this opportunity. Any further information you require please do not hesitate to contact me. I can confirm that your details have been suppressed and you will not be called by Telegen UK Ltd in future marketing campaigns'.

got 3 calls from this number today, didn't answer, but they don't let it ring for long anyway. This makes me suspicious and if I ever do answer I will be on my guard against them and what ever they want to sell me.

today i got a popup from this website planet49 i was not at all believing the offer they gave so i searched in google got the exect info.

Just ask them what they are wearing! it usually works.
