They called, I answered, some girl said "stupid f**k" and I hung up. This is clearly some sort of phone force advert company or scam.

They have been calling me two or three times a week for the past three weeks. I have rung them back, and pressed 1 to have my number removed. Thirty seconds later I recieved a silent phone call that went dead when I answered it. We are on the phone preference service, so should receive no spam calls. This is annoying. I am going to contact offcom, and see what they say.

I have been pestered by these people constantly even as late as 9 O'clock at night which is annoying when I have small children asleep. I have tried telling them to "F**k off*, playing loud music down the phone and I now have a whistle ready to blow down the phone next time they ring! When will they leave me alone???

This number called me and when I answered there was no one on the end of the call.  What was the point in that?  Who actually called me?

Hey Bruce, apparently the calls are from Eurochance 100. I vaguely remember giving my phone number for an Audi competition online recently. This is how they got your number too I expect? I am going to answer the next call and politely tell them I am not interested in the Eurochance thing and ask them to remove my number from their database. If that doesn't work they will get a blast from my whistle!!

The company making these calls is TELEGEN.  Eurochance is just one of the many companies they work for.  We have had many calls from these nuisances using 08009121698 and 08000927203. and there are a lot of complaints on this site about that number too.  Once they  have your number they seem to pass it around.  One day they ring on behalf of Eurochance, next week it's on behalf of AXA and the next week it's on behalf of Telegraph group.  We have pressed 1 to get ourselves off their lists but it makes no difference. Can nobody stop these people?

well they still call me everyday...my fon still ringin when im in eork or home and when i pick up ....quiet....and where they have mi number???

I work for Telegen making the very calls you are talking about.  I am currently calling on behalf of the Eurochance 100 campaign which is viewed as the biggest scam of all.  There is a very simple way of getting us to stop calling you,  answer the phone and say we have the wrong number.  The agent on the other end of the phone should scrub you from the database.  Nothing we call you about will be a scam,  given that Telegen is a completly legitimate company who stay well within British Law. Complaining to Ofcom will make little difference,  given that we are all carefully monitered to ensure our compliance.  Just answer the phone and say we have the wrong number. Or,  don't give your phone number out over the internet!

This Is My Complaint That I Made  

Everyday for the past week, we have been receiving call ons our home number. My partner who works was out and they wouldn't speak to me and tell me what the fuss was about and were very rude on the phone. And then his younger brother of 16 who was out and their mum answered and they wouldn't even tell her, even though he is only 16. It is disgusting and I am very angry at the company. This needs to stop as I am not the only person to receive the calls. I kept getting nusiance calls from them a couple of months ago.
I ggogled the number, and obviously like most of you, found this forum!!!
I took the advice, called back and got my number taken off their database...however, the last 3 days my phones had upteen missed calls from them :(

for 2 days i am also getting call from 08009121698....I don't know who they are as the phone get disconnected everytime. I tried to call it back but there was answering machine. I am worried what is the matter.

At that time I had contacted Telegen to ask them to remove my mobile number from their database.

This seemed to have worked because the calls to my mobile stopped.

About 5 days ago I received 3 calls from Telegen on my land-line. I tried to answer one of them and the caller hung up on me.

I see that "Telegen Caller" (a few posts higher than this one) seems to believe that Telegen are not in the wrong by making these calls.

Surely this is nonsense. Even if some us were daft enough to give our phone numbers on competition entries this does not give Telegen the all-clear to make silent calls to us.

Neither does it give them the right to call us, say our names and then hang up.

These are nuisance calls & Telegen are not above the law.

I am about to contact them to ask for my BT number to be removed from their list. I will also make a further complaint to Ofcom.

keep getting calls from 08009121698

We have been badly hit by Telegen.  We have got calls from 08009121698 and from their other number 08000927203.  When I called them back I just got a recorded messsage saying to press 1 if I wanted our number taken off their list. I pressed 1 but the calls still come.  Can no-one do anything about this **** company? Why are they allowed to be above the law?

If you contact them and request that they remove the number that has been called - they are obliged to carry out your request.  This can be verbal, or written - they still have to oblige.

I've just had a call from this number and foolishly or not I've signed up to it. Can someone who has undoubtedly done the same as me before now let me know if this is legitimate or are they just raking it in by selling many of the same tickets to 1000's of people? I've got a few weeks in which to cancel my DD before they take the first payment of £9.

i have been getting incessant calls from this number. every time i pick up they end the call or nobody answers. aaarrrgh!! who the hell is this? idiots have nothing better to do than placing crank calls.

It must be one of those automated diallers as when I answered there was quite a gap between me answering and someone actually speaking. I'm beginning to think that the old adage "if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is" is right and I've been a bit of a fool!

This number keeps calling me! I haven't answered at all but it is getting annoying. How can I stop it?
