I haven't entered any competitions - how could I have won????

I'd won a prize after completing a questionaire . No memory of this. Withheld caller ID and rang, Told it was a promotion not a win , hung up

I just got the same call as Alan - it is a timeshare sale but I'm going to the presentation for a laugh

just got a call i have won a holiday plus other stuff for phoning quickly!never entered a competition !

I have not had a call like most of you on here.
I have entered lost of cometitions.

But has anyone gone through with the so called "scam"
no one on here seem to have gone past the first
stage.

what would happen if i went to there presentation for 2 hours
and payed £29.50p?

(Caller knew my name and that of my wife - also knew our address).  Said, "You have won a prize in a draw by Club LaCosta.  You have not won the main prizem but you are offered a 7-day all-inclusive holiday in one of Teneriffe, Turkey, (and 2 other places).  All you have to do is ring 0800 988 9900 where they will be able to forward their information pack.  You should quote your reference 2IPTC****77.  You have (18 months) to make your mind up as to where you want to go for your holiday.  Congratulations on winning.

This is a time share scam.  I've never heard of anyone actually getting one of the prizes promised.  These feature on Watchdog quite regularly.

Just had a call from somebody that said I had won a competiton prize but not the top prize. A 7 day holiday for 4 to one of 4 places including the Canaries and Turkey. I have entered competitions but cannot remember if I had entered it online. So I have a reference number and this number which is apparently free phone but I am not too sure!

Got a call from someone who said I had been selected to go for a free holiday alongside 3 other people in  Spain. we only have to pay £29.50..

He emphasised the need to call 08009889900 immedialey and get additional prices. Looks like a scam.

Just had aphone call apparently ive won a 7 night holiday to Turkey ! Fantastic just what I need,I asked the lady what it would cost me and apparently its completely free of charge, when I asked why she said it was free advertising for her company and hopefully I would use them next time .  If I phone within an hour apparently I get some free vouchers WOW!!!!

I've just had this too, it's a time share scam so steer clear unless you like getting bored to tears while someone tries to pressure you into buying a timeshare

Got the same call as Linda (31.10.07 )My appointment is at Birmingham in November, hope they send me my vouchers before the meeting lol, steer clear its total scam !!

I got my third call from this lot just now. They are now saying that you have just THIRTY minutes to call the freephone number. Yeah like I would!

Called twice to tell me and remind me I had won a holiday for 4, must ring before the end of today and i'll get high street vouchers too.  When they discovered income under 25K pa decided i hadn't won after all and it was a promotion.

These people are extremely skilful and persuasive, so don't risk attending their presentations. in spite of you being assured the presentation will take 'only a couple of hours' it is likely to take much longer, and 4 - 5 hours is common. You will probably have to give multiple dates and multiple destinations for your holiday choice, but the company will have the right to offer you alternatives - which usually means Tenerife, and you will then have to agree to attend yet another presentation which may be even more skilled and high pressured, and longer! If in spite of this advice you still decide to attend a presentation, DON'T sign anything and DON'T take your credit card, or cheque book to the presentation.

just had the same call said id won a holiday (despite never entering a competition) but not the main prize of a caribbean holiday.
tenerife or turkey etc. they also had my email address and the names correct needless to say i wont be phoning their freephone number.

Just been called again! If I call before 7.30 with a different reference number then I am still up for the prize oh and £50 in high street store vouchers! Lucky me.
