Got a text saying my barclaycard was overdue and to phone 08442412951. I'm a bit suspicious as I know my account is all paid up. Anyone else had this? scam or not?

Just got scammed as well - if you hold on the phone and don't give your number you go to an automated (indian operator) who keeps asking for the card number and then says there is a bad connection please hang up

Got the same message saying Barclaycard is overdue and I cant' use it until I make a payment. I don't have and have never had a Barclaycard.

Just recieved same message - checked my statements and am up to date - don't call the number as they earn money when you dial 0844.

Just had this call, and my barclaycard payment is up to date, called the number and it was an automated reply asking for my card details.

Text to say a Barcaly card account is over due

i received the same text, even though i do not have a Barclaycard, yet my card seems to have strangely stopped working. i'm getting in touch with my bank asap.

I got the same... A call and a text message... These people are looking to scam you, do NOT give any of your personal details away.

Somehow, some online company which you have purchased a good or service with has been hacked and your valuable personal data stolen. These 'Muppets' are using your personal details to obtain additional private data about you. To which to scam you and blow your credit card limit.

If you can not use your credit card to buy goods or services, don't worry, these people are using your credit card details in a midst of a single transaction, because they can not authorised this transaction, The failed transaction will temporarily bar you from using your credit card too...

Solutions:

1. Go to your bank and request them to fix this problem.
2. Look at your Barclaycard CARD and ring that number to enquire and fix this problem.

Just got a text saying the same, rang barclaycard and i debt to them...another scam!!!

I've had several phone calls and a text message. The text message said my Bcard was overdue and I was unable to make payments. Having had previous dealings with Bcard and fraud (I've found Bcard v.good btw) I've got a number for them. Yup, nothing wrong with my card and they haven't been trying to get hold of me. It is a scam!

It's happening to me and I don't even have a Barclay's credit card. It's extremely annoying, they call me late at night, several times during the day for two months now. Is there a way to divert these call?

cant anything be done to stop these calls?

Just received the same text - it was an obvious scam to me because I do NOT bank with
Barclays.  Cold calling to landlines was bad enough and now this crap to mobiles!  Times a changing...

give them false details....
false middle names address and dates of birth.....
they even go on about how you should send them an utility bill and copy of id!

tell them you don't have any accounts in the UK

I received a text message today to say Barclaycard account overdue and to ring this number 08442412951 i know not overdue as pay by direct debit so must be a scam

Fraud is fraud and this is one for the International Internet police to track down! I have called Barclaycard and reported it!

got a text saying my barclaycard is overdue and i cant use it, i'm uptodate on my payments, havent rung the number in the text which is 08442412951, some [***] is making money out of this, do not phone at any cost.

I just got a text saying that I am overdue and unable to use my card and to call 08442412951.  I have also been getting calls from 08453007027 apparently relating to so called Barcleys.  I'm pretty sure my payments are up to date.  Will check when home

Yep, I've been receiving calls from 08453007027 and have now got the same text asking ne to call 08442412951.
I ignored most of the calls but did answer one to tell the lady where to go! She asked for my security password and when I questionned who she was, and why the number was listed as a scam on Google, she couldn't answer me.
Not sure whether to report to Barclays or not. Seems like this scam has been happening for a while.
