Had a phone call from this number and when i answered they hung up!
What a great job somebody has ringing up people all day and hanging up on them!!
I wondered if anybody had been called by this number as I havent a clue who it is.

Yip I got this too today on my mobile

I called it back from another Phone and they said it was some kind of credit agency.

I called these people back and they said they are called, "consumer credit", i googled the company address and apparently 5 people have reported it being a scam, so dont answer, waste of time!

Just got a call from the number myself :K

I have just got a call from them, they hung up straight away. When i tried to call it back they didnt answer.

my partner just had a call from these people didnt answer thank god

I just had a call off this number and when called back it said hold on why I try and conect you/.

It also hung up as i answered it.

Just got a call from the number myself. it Rang, thought it might be my bank or something so i picked up, they hung up straight away. If they are scammers, which they probably are, without talking to people they're not going to get very far...these people should stop trying.

Number just rang my mobile, lasted all of two rings then rang off.

I also had a missed call from this number. They want you to call them back, so don't. I recognised the blag instantly. If someone needed to contact for whatever reason, they would continue to endeavour to reach you if it was so important......They are playing a numbers game and will net the mugs of the world.

Yep just had a cold call from this number too.

i'm on T-Mobile, would be interesting to see if they are targeting specific networks

I got missed call today as well. I'm O2, so don't think they're targeting just one network.

Same here, called and hung up when I answered. Pathetic.

I also had a call form this number and they hung up. They probably get a percentage of the phone call if you ring back, so dont! I'm on O2 network.

I got a call from them twice and no one speak when i answer the phone and i don't call 0844 numbers as they sometimes cos alot..

what i think they are trying to do is they give miss-call to people and when the people call them back they make money on it...

I was called on my mobile by this number but did not answer it at the time.  I called the number back from a landline which blocks the outgoing number - a woman with an accent (poss Newcastle?) answered and said 'hello, consumer credit services'.  As soon as I said that I was returning a missed call she said 'oh my god' and hung up.

Just received a call from this number. As soon as I answered they hung up. Thought it might be a scam so googled the number and this thread was the first thing to be returned in the search. Won't be returning the call now, obviously!

They are called Consumer Credit Services and tell you that they can "assess" your credit agreements with various lenders to establish if there is any defect within them that could invalidate them, thus "writing off" your debt. What they don't tell you initially is that they charge up front fees which are non-refundable even if they're not successful on your behalf. These may amount to hundreds of pounds so it's not advisable to get involved. I note that they pay their staff a pittance but offer up to £30K on commission so that explains their persistence.
