I called this number back and got an automated message saying "you have been called today by Me Group a representative will call you back another time"

Just had a call from this number. it hung up so  i called back a recorded male voice wit a soft irish accent said" hello you have just been called by the me group there is no need to call us back as one our representative will be in touch with you soon" . Never heard of them and the only references i can find to "me group are about charity supporting M.E sufferers or international building contractors. Neither of these would be relevent to anyone here nor should they have my number.
can anyone shed any more light?

Just had a call from this number. Lady saying she was calling from Me magazine and I was entitled to a free £100 beauty voucher. Apparently got my number as I had completed a survey or had subscribed to a magazine which is news to me! Once she mentioned it would only cost me a pound I lost what little interest I had in the conversation.

I want to make you aware of a scam I have been affected by, its for me magazine, they phone u and ask u to look at the pilot copy and do a review and they will give u 2 spa vouchers, but the catch is u have 2 pay £1 wiv a card but its secure as u dont give security number, believe it or not i fell for this and the mag arrived wiv 'surprise' no spa vouchers and a letter saying they will automaticly subscribe me for a year for £65 and for my conveniance will just take the money from my account, however if i dont want to subscribe i can phone the customer services line, which i have now done 5 times and left 3 messages the website is non -exsistant all the phone number in the mag no matter what its for goes to the same answerphone and message, i tried to email but email address is not available. I have contacted my bank and they have said if the money is taken they can investigate. PLEASE DO NOT BE A MUG LIKE ME, DO NOT TAKE PART IN THIS SCAM!!!

Just had a call from this number, she asked for me by name when I said I couldn't hear her very clearly she put the phone down. Definitely dodgy.

Well i just googled this number as it has been phoning my mum, and she has just told me a similar story, got no magazine for £1 then £65 got taken from her bank. Well she contacted the bank who gave her the following number to call...02920 364 220 and the company is called Recreational Services. Now they told her today that they would refund the money within 8 or 9 working days. I only hope they do.....

Received a call saying we had completed a survey/reply form.  Not true.  From ME magazine.  We do not respond to charity requests as we support our own selection.
We are on TPS and this is a sales call.  We should not have been cold-called like this.

If you have been called by 08445670460 it could to do with a number of products or services you currently have, or may be interested in. We do not cold call, our calls are made on behalf of affiliates or made directly as the result of surveys customers have filled in.

We do offer a club magazine, which has a large subscription base of readers. We have hundreds of new customers per day, and inevitably some people may not follow or be disclosed the product clearly enough from time to time. If you feel you have taken a product which was not explained properly please call us up and we are always happy to help. We offer a no-quibble refund policy.

Just got a call from these people, once already from MeClub, did the same as Suzy, and what a struggle it was to get a response from them, sent them two emails and left 3 messages without reply, finally got through to speak to someone who informed me that the membership had been cancelled. Now today I got another call from Me Finance, they soon hung up when I started asking a few questions. I don't care what ME GROUP response says, they are cold calling and they need to stop, or they need to tell you exactly who you filled this survey in with and how they got your information. Just been called by this number yet again. Both times they were extremely rude and aggressive followed by putting the phone down. Avoid at all costs!!!

Yes you do cold call i have never or would ever answer a survey on the telephone.
It is also illegal for you to call any one registered with the telephone preference service  which is some thing else you ignore.
And the 08006696480 number you give just rings and rings.

I completed a telephone survey for a company and have been since inundated with scam phone calls. The ME magazine scam promised me a petrol voucher for helping them, and I tore the interrogater off a strip as I felt convinced that this was just another scam which derived from the initial survey.  She said that she was only doing her job, but would take me off her list.  I should have told her that I was registered on TPS.

I rang the 08006696480 number and got through to ME group. She was very polite and helpful and said she will take my name off of the mailing list. Fingers crossed that she does.

Im registered on the tps i keep getting silent calls from withheld numbers so i contacted my land line provider  and they have put a screen calling service on my phone so if the number is withheld then i can see due to this i have not picked up a with held number then i got a call a while later from 08445670560 soon as i picked up it hung up came across this on the tps websight for the silent calls.

Well I've just been scammed by this company Me Club (part of ME Group). Just as above I was cold called (apparently I'd completed a survey). They said they were setup to provide donations to cancer charities and I could join for 14 days trial with a reward of £20 petrol vouchers which would only cost a £1 to cover postage. Having recently had cancer I thought it was worth a look. I browsed their website www.meclub.co.uk, and google'd for scams relating to their company, and all looked fine. The Welcome pack didn't arrive for 13 days so at this point I cancelled my membership. Except they ignored this and took the full amount. They don't answer their customer service line 0800 669 6480, and they don't respond to emails. BEWARE. You may say I was gullible but I thought it was for a good cause.

We were scammed because we didn't realise that you can have money debited from your card if you do not give them your 3 number "security code" as they tell you in their sales pitch. UNFORTUNATLY YOU CAN.
When we cancelled our "membership" by registered post on 31st JULY as you cannot contact them on their "24 hour contact numbers" we took the precaution of cancelling our card as well. Good job we did, as they tried to withdraw the full £65 3 days after the call. They have also continued to call us EVERY DAY SINCE, with silent calls, as we are obviously now on their contacts call list.
Yesterday, 2nd NOVEMBER, we had a person on the line who went into the full sales pitch saying he knew we had cancelled our membership but was willing to offer us a "reduced subscription" of £26 if we would give him our new card details ! ! !  
This has gone beyond an attempted scam into harrassment. We read about a guy who has charged cold callers for his time for answering, thats our next step !
