Applied for a job on the internet and got a email back within three minutes of the application saying ring this number rang it and said i was in position 10 didnt wait on it that long, just seems a bit to fishy to me??

applied for a job through reed.co.uk. got an e-mail to call this number and as before was in position 16. after reading this, hung up

me too i applied through reed thought it was a bit fishy recieving a email within such short time asking me to call them on 0844 number, they should be calling me, so i googled to see the cost of this call and come across this website. Needless to say i wont be calling this number back, but may well send them a email!

This doesn't seem right - I think Reed should take job off...

I would not call this number, unfortunately I did twice before seeing this web page so imagine I'll be receiving a huge phone bill - its well dodgy!!!! Reed Employment should reimburse people for this.

After reading this I Emailed the guy "Mark" and asked if he had a direct number I could call him on or if he would call me..

Sounds VERY dodgy to me

I found this Job on Reed. I recieved an email to contact this number.
I then contacted them and I was in the que at number 8 & was on for 35 minutues.
I spoke to the recruitment team and they have asked me to email my CV to someone called Frank (Which I have). I have checked the Company out on Companies House and they have been in existence for 31yrs. So that to me look as if this is a reputable Company to work for.
I have also spoken to BT and the charge for the calls to this number is 5p a minute (Landline) & varies upto 10p from a mobile.

I did the same and found I was caller number 32. I can't afford to be paying 5p per minute to sit there for 4 times longer than what Tom (above) said he waited for! What a mess about, you'd think they'd give you a direct line to call.

I have had the exact same experience - its just too dodgy and I always use the moto 'if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is'!! - I also thought this was a bit fishy when I saw the ymail email domain - I will be staying clear of this company - they have my CV though and I dont fancy my data being in their hands!

Its just really annoying that there are people out there, honest hard-working people, who are looking for work and these idiots are wasting time - I agree with the statements above, Reed.co.uk should ban them!

i had a different number to you mine was a free phone number 0800 6899008 same company, i thought it was dodgy myself who pays 10 - 12 per hour.  ive reported it to reed, ive also reported it to my local job centre they won't do anything.  i thought it was fishy as the address is similar to dh data who were a scam who got reported and now taken of the computer.  there are to many scam companies, im one of quite a few people desperately seeking work we need the money, im not wanting to shell out on dodgy phonecalls to dodgy companies who are not genuine companies

ive reported it hopefully it will be taken of the web.  getting sick of these people conning us out of money we need - fckers (sorry im annoyed with them)

I saw the advertisment in my local paper, and rang and left my number. I recieved a txt on new years day asking to ring the number, I was in possition 17 and thought it was a bit fishy when I had slowly went down to position 4 (took 35mins!!!) I decided to wait on as I'd been on the phone so long, I thought I might as well wait and see what happened. after 40 mins or so of waiting I got through to someone who asked me to send off my cv to Frank Jackson.

So I waited on the phone for 40 mins for them to tell me to email a cv? why couldn;t they have just txt me telling me to do this, instead of keeping me on the phone for 40 mins only to tell me to email my cv off.

I was going to email my cv off today but after reading these I don't want any of my personal info in there hands.

ive reported this to watchdog - hopefully something will be done, fingers crossed.  good luck in the job hunting.

Yes hopefully, they run these adverts all over the country it seems, so god knows how many people have rang up! Disgusting.

I and like many other people who are currently looking for work applied for, the next day I received an email from them saying

I contacted the above number on several occasions to find that I was in a long queue, and I was not in a position to wait.

Eventually I managed to land in a small queue of 31, down slowly to no 1 which took 15mins

When it eventually got to number 1 a recorded message then came on saying that there was a fault on the careers information line.

This after what everyone elso has said can only be a scam

not only do I feel like I have wasted my time but they have also taken my money off of me.

PS Should reed not have checked out there clients first or is this just another case of bad and sloppy work.

i was so angry when i eventually got through.. after the 17minute wait.. then was told there was a line fault..utter CON!!! do not bother... too good to be true.. [***] [***].
I wish i read this first :-/ now ive got a phone bill to pay off for nothing!

www.reed.co.uk have taken it off i think..  they should be checking properly who are actually businesses!!!!!!  they obviously arent doing their jobs correctly.       Seriously i am so pissed off.

i applied for this job through the Northeast jobs website in november, i uploaded my cv and sent it off. 2 or 3 days later, i recieved a text from DS RECRUIT asking me to call 08448227014 quoting ref 'DSNOV25' and ask for FRED HENDERSON, i called and got through in about 15 mins, and they said they were having pc probs and could i resend the cv.  Then a week or so later i received another txt askig me to call asap quoting the same ref, again stupid me phoned and waited in their long Queue.  Fred Henderson said i had been shortlisted to the top 20 out of 700 applicants just in the north east!!!!  I would be hearing from the company in the next week or so and would be invited to take part in a telephone interview.  I asked if he could disclose who the employer was, he said they had 2 major companies looking for data entry clerks, but was not able to disclose at this time, until candidated had been chosen.  DS Recritment services do have a web site, but i dont think that DS Recruit is at all part pf them!!!!!  I was not suspisious as i have never used recruitment agencies before.  BUT last night i phoned waiting one hour to ask if i had been successful, he asked me to phone or email in a week, i asked for the email and he gave me albioncomputerservices email, i though wow, he has slipped up and disclosed the company who i may be working for!!!!!!  HOW VERY WRONG I WAS!!!!!!!! googled who these [***] were!!!  I just want a bloody job...not all this crap off bogus fraudsters

I suspect that 'Tom' above is in cahoots as he has also put exactly the same email under the other number that this so called 'Company uses' so do NOT under any circumstances listed to 'TOM' or anyone else who tries to tell you its not a hoax IT IS and they have been reported....................

Can 'Tom' give details of the listing for Companies House including the name and address of this company and if they have been in existence 31 years!!!!!!! yea right, why not have a website and proper email address no genuine company would use 'ymail' for a company email and in this day and age not have a website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i recived an email today from the same company with the same messsage.Luckely i was told to look on the internet and try and find a free phone number and came across this website.i rang the company twice but hung up as soon as it told me what position i was in in the que.I am now happy that i came across this in time otherwise i would have probebly gone all the way.this is a joke we are all trying to look for a job and we have people like this robbin money off us wich we jus havent got. i really do hope that reed do take this job off there site.at least i no to be more carefull from now on!!!!1

Yes, same story. I saw this job advertised in a local newspaper in Stoke-on-Trent was told to ring this number. Luckily I saw this and didn't!
