IKANO financial services - IKEA.

When they called, today, the woman speaking, did not say who they were and why they calling.
She asked if she could speak to a particular relative of mine and I explained she had moved from this address, then she just hung up! I had to trace this received call myself to find out who they were!
Very rude and very bad service to say the least.

This number 08448565731 calls all the time and i Know its IKANO Finance, and ive missed a couple of payments so i understand why they are calling me, however, when i answer, noone speaks and they hang up. Its driving me nuts!!!
They are calling my mobile but i have no idea how to stop this??

at least 5 times a day i get a call and if i pick up no one talks or anything...its driving me crazy!!!!!!

I am puzzled! I received a call from this number but they said they were from New Look. They were trying to get a hold of my daugher and tha would be consisten with them calling from New Look. Ny daughter does not have an account with IKEA.

denis your daughter must have an newlook store card.  I do and i get pestered by this number all the time the only time they stop is when the store card as been paid in full.

this numbers calls me about 7 times a day and they say its NEW LOOK and i own the 200 pounds on a store card but i have never even opened a store card there, its also been opened from my old address 8 months ago, i moved from there 18 months ago?? how i ask them?? they put down the phone and ring again.

IKANO are the credit company behind the Warehouse store card too.

their a pain in the [***]! and ring you even if you miss a payment of like 2 quid! get a life like its a recession! xx

i dont know why they call me all the time, im sick of it, its my home number and i had to disconnect my phone to avoid it.

These [***] also chase for Karen Millen accounts - something which I do not have - ended up buying 'call manager application' for my mobile...its great it just diverts the number somewhere and my phone doesnt even ring.. i only know they called by a little flashing mobile icon on my mobile screen which is far better than me getting wound up by them.

Same thing, 5 calls a day and nothing on the other end, i got the phone installede 2 days ago too.

To Graceysmommy - That sounds a lot like a frauduelantly opened account and its best you do speak to Ikano Financial as they can help you to prevent it happening again.

-New Look, Ikea, Karen Millen, Warehouse, Oasis, Principles and a few others.

They are a finance company so therefore they will call you if you miss a payment, even if it is £2. Being such a small amount...wouldn't it be easier to just pay it. I mean you do have that pretty outfit that you've probably already worn thanks to the instant front of cash from Ikano. Even if that instant cash is charged at a stupidly high interest. You signed the agreement in the store.

If they are calling you '7' times a day then just answer it... if its a mistake and you don't have a store card with that above stores then spending all of 5 minutes talking to them will mean no more calls. If it is your account and you have paid then ..again...2 minutes of your time to say 'i've paid thank you' will mean no more calls. If it is your account and you haven't paid your bill... then the other person on the end of the phone is just doing their job.

Dizzydzr - just so you are aware... if they are calling you about an account you say isn't yours it means someone has used your details to open an account. Wouldn't you rather speak to them so this can't be done again??? Perhaps not.

Honestly people. Use your common sense.

These are unsolicited calls from this number

I have been getting calls from this number for months now and I get up to 6 calls a day now.  Some of them are silent but when the caller replies they ask for someone by the name of Gladys, who is this person, I have not got a clue.  I say politely that there is nobody here by that name and who is calling please?  Reply 'Oasis', I then say, politely again, I receive calls from your company many times a day, can you please advise what I need to do to get you to remove my number from your database, they always say sorry I have removed your number now and you will not be called again.
Guess what happens the next day?  need I say it? no.

They also hang up sometimes when i question them. I do not have any store card and never ever had one.

So thank you 'Just a Friend' you obviously not been getting the constant phone calls.  Some people do use their common sense, i have tried talking to them and I have explained I am not the person they want to speak to but it dont work.

It would help if whoever was calling actually SPOKE rather than hanging up when I answer the call.  I, like many others, have been called excessively and although I want to answer the call and discuss my account, they ALWAYS hang up!

I am not going to spend my own money calling back so they can either speak when I answer the phone or bugger off!  I assume you work for, or know someone who works for this company hence your defence of them.  So if you are able to put in a bit of advice to them to actually talk to the people they are trying to contact it would be much more helpful than patronising people on here.

Use your common sense - do you think people would be looking up the number on this site if it was that simple?

They call and hang up, we dial 1471 and wonder who it is so we Google it and here we are.
If they think I am going to call back a 0844 number they are mistaken. They rely on the fact if you are stupid enough to take a high interest store card then you are stupid enough to ring at your own expense.

The country is full of rip off merchants taking advantage of the less well educated and it really really narks me. It was my step daughter who took a card - she has no job and no income but gave my phone number because she cant even afford a phone, so why did they give her a card?
The more people who refuse to repay these people the better - rant over.

I got my new contract phone yesterday plus brand new number. As soon as I turned the phone on, I started getting calls from this no. no voicemail left. They called 4/5 times. I finally managed to get to the phone in time today before they hung up:

Me: Hello?
Them: Hi Nikki this is New Look
Me: I'm sorry, you have the wrong number, this is a new phone, I don't know who Nikki is.
Them: Nikki I don't know why you are lying and saying this isn't you.
Me: I have no idea who you are or who Nikki is. If you continue to call, I shall report you to the police.
Them: Well Nikki I'm going to have to report you to the police if you continue to act like this.
Hangs up

I'm so annoyed! How dare they be so rude and threatening. You can't call them back 'to explain' as they want your account number and you can't get through to an operator. They obviously were chasing payments and thinking I was this 'Nikki' lying.

Spoke to network who said, phone numbers are recycled after 12 months so maybe this explains it. Roll on to number being ported across to stop these nuisance calls as can't see how else this would be rectified.

Mobile numbers are reused. Probably what's happened is Nikki's phone has been cancelled and you have her old number.

I would have assumed that they should have asked some security questions before talking to you. Maybe point that out to them.
