Said he was a representitive of Halifax. Didnt quite get there company name even though i asked him again. Spoke to fast. Asked for date of birth, occupation, kids, then if i had any hobbies. By this time i hung up..Very suspicious i thing but could be wrong.
Yes it's the ALYFACTS sales teams plodding thru their customers records to try & flog something you don't want.Next interuption I get I close my account AND the next bank WILL NOT be getting my phone no.DON'T listen to 'em and put the handset to one side so they eventually realise that noone's listening to their rubbish,so wasting their time and money, not yours. It's what's called customer rebellion to plonkers........ like the one in the Nationwide TV adverts.
I get 2 or 3 of these calls a day! I have a 1571 service so that if a call is important they can leave a message, but they never do. Its so annoying that sometimes when I answer they put the phone down after a few seconds (probably speaking to someone else!). I was so annoyed this morning that when they asked if they could speak to Mrs. B, I shouted down the phone that "NO THEY COULDN'T!" and put the phone down. I'm so fed up of this number that if they ring again I'm afraid I will be downright rude to them.
This number just called and claimed to be "First Assist on behalf of the Halifax" and then proceeded to ask me to confirm my year of birth. I said no way, I don't confirm personal details with unsolicited incoming calls when I can't verify who they are. I'm about to ring the Halifax and inform them that someone appears to be phishing for personal data from their customers. And if it IS genuine, then the bank needs some serious training in security.
Have missed two calls from them in the past few days, next time they call I will answer and tell them not to again - I think they have to remove you from the list if you tell them.
This number did call again today. I told them I was a member of the telephone preference service and ask them to remove me. They said they would do this straight away. Only time will tell if its gone for good!
I have just had 2 missed calls from this number within the last hour, i was at work so couldn't answer my mobile! Quite persistant though to call twice in one hour!
i've been called by this number 0845 0262533 - at least 2 times a day sometimes as late as 8 o clock at night 3 times in 2 hours on one Occasion and several times at the weekend. Haven't picked up yet, so i suppose that's why they keep calling I use the TPS service 08450700707 and the silent Service 08704443969 I don't give out my number ever! I am not a Halifax Customer so where did they get my exdiretory no from. Are they using an illegal Dialer to randomly dial numbers until the get a responce and then connect you to a call centre chicken or have they got hold of a copy of the government Disc's that went missing ?
Got the same call asked me for my date of birth , I replied you tell me yours first he said no , before I can continue you must confirm some security details , I said do you really think i am going to give out my personal details over the phone just because your asking me for them , He said yes , I said f*** off and put the phone down . After checking it appears to be be a legit number , But the way they go about their cold calling leaves a little to be desired , Anyway if I get another one I think I will play them along I might tell them I was born in 10AD and my name is Connor Macloud of the clan Macloud and that I am really a highlander and will not die
Just got a call from this number, claimed he was from First assist calling on behalf of Halifax. Asked me to confirm my year of birth. I said I wasn't prepared to give out that information and he said OK then and hung up. I am a customer of Halifax so assumed that they had got my details from them.
Just done a search on First Assist and they are 90% owned by Barclays and 10% Bank of Scotland. Halifax insurance policies are administered by FirstAssist. Not sure if this means they could have passed my details onto this company or not. I think not.
