Fed up with various companies obtaining my telephone number and pestering us with calls in relation to mis-sold insurance etc. Its about time Bt and other telephone providers did something about it or the government at that. Fed up

I would be wary of any company taking advance payments that is in so much debt that claims to be a financial Intermediary ????

Just sent a compliant to OFCOM via the TPL website http://complaints.tpsonline.org.uk/Consumer/
We are registered on the telephone preference list so they should not call.
My wife has fielded a number of calls this week along with countless messages left on our answer machine.
They called today and got my wrath!
Informed the lady (Kate) that the number was registered with TPL and that they should not have called us.
She then told me we must have had some dealings with the 'Fields' group of companies in the past.
I said we had not and that she was not to call again and that I was making a complaint to the TPL and then I hung up.
Thanks for your previous details about this company. They are not far from me, so if I get any more calls I might be making a few of my own calls!

Just had a 2nd call form these people, both times they announced themselves as Action Direct. This latest caller said she would remove my name (full name!!!) and number from their system. Hmmm, we'll see how long that lasts!

Silent call

I had a call from this number as well, when I awnsered they just put the phone down in my ear.  Thought I would google it to try and figure out who it is.

The company is FC-Direct based in Wales. They have a freephone number: 08004402455. I have had dealings with this company where they are also 6 other companies. I am chasing them for a refund for 2 months. Not impressed either by the constant calls from 08450405921 where twice I have left a message asking them to stop (one on the freephone and one on the 0845).

The number called on a number of occasions. I did not respond, but keep getting the call from the number a few times a week.

Had a call from these people at 17:30 yesterday and again this morning at 09:37. Where they get the number from is unknown to me, as my mobile is a brand new number!!

I am waiting for them to call back and then they will know it! Called from two different numbers as well!!

Nobody can really explain how this company has obtained our numbers. Does anyone have any real world ideas, how they have got them. For example, i have posted my CV online recently....discuss.

I have received many calls from this number but i havent answered them. I have used an online divorce company as well so it looks as though they are getting our numbers from this source!

Asks for Mr Lindsey (not my name) then says never mind this may interest you.   Happened twice.   They didn't even bother to change the name they're asking for!   I hung up before learning of what they are selling.

This information should be reported to the Information Commissioner as well as they are clearly using your data illegally. Even if you used one of their other services, there is nowhere in their terms or prvacy policies that say they can use your date for anything other than dealing with that purchase. Just type in Fields Group scam into Google to see what else they have been upto!

I've had several calls from this number. No-one speaks, they just hang up when I answer..  Very frustrating!

This is a company that I actually work for. We are now called Action Direct. We don't scam people, we are a legitimate company, regulated by the ministry of Justice. We claim money back for people every day and plenty of people are nothing but happy with our services. We buy data from other companies which is where we get people's details from, also if you have used things like quickie divorce then this is where we buy data from also. I am very angry at some of the comments on here, considering what we do actually helps people a great deal. We are just doing our jobs. As for the times when we ask for different people, this is due to the fact that our databases are having an off day where they aren't showing us the correct names to match the telephone numbers. But as someone above explained 'someone said that the call could actually benefit you' then it can. Our website shows testimonials from our customers who have been happy with the service they have received.

Hi, why do you think that you were ripped off by claims direct?

Just got a client call from this number. Clearly the company is using an autodialer, and cannot field enough people to man it. The lazy scattergun approach to marketing is nothing other than spam. Yes I am on the TPS and yet the call still came in. No doubt the legal team will find some loophole which makes this legal or they can simply hide behind the lack of assets when made to pay some kind of fine. This company has had >37 complaints to trading standards in the last 12 months (freedom of information act).

WelshGirl - look at those net assets above. How much redundancy pay do you think you'll get should the company go under? How big a bonus do you think the directors got this year?
