- diane| 6 repliesIDBC claim to be business rates advisors. Put the phone down as soon as they say who they are. They will trap you into a verbal contract over the phone and then whack you for a £500 bill. They then harass you and threaten legal action. Please beware.

- Nik replies to diane| 2 repliesHi can u pls provide me further detail abt that situatio caz I am having same problem from that people
- Diane replies to Nik| 1 replyHi nik basically they said I had entered into a verbal contract and had that conversation. Recorded.they. Keep phoning me up demanding payment using bullying. Tactics. This made me suspicious. Because a proper business would nt do that if they felt there was a misunderstanding. Anyway. I decided to contact trading standards and I have had a response from them today saying that they have had a lot of complaints about this company. In the mean time I have told idbc I mean not paying them so take me to court. I would rather see them in court for misrepresentation than pay them a penny.
- Emma HollambyHaving the same problem, they called we stated that no money would be paid to them and they said no money needed paying until we won the case, days later recieved a bill, they offered us to pay in 2 instalements and even offered a 10% reduction, thats what I call desperation, interesting enough in there T&C 2.4 IF YOU DO NOT PAY THE FEE WHEN DUE, THE COMPANY RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SUSPEND ANY FURTHER SERVICES UNTIL PAYMENT IS MADE IN FULL. so how can they threaten legal action.

- Alison| 5 repliesI received a call today from the court liason representitive, Graham. Saying I can get out of the contract if I pay £150. I refused and apparently I'm going to court now. I'll wait to hear what happens and keep all informed. If anyone else has any information then I would be grateful to hear it.

- diane replies to Alison| 2 repliesI had court letters from them but with no date issued on them and no case number. They say that if i don t pay in 3 days they will issue the court letters. I already told them to take me to court so no idea why they haven t processed them. Again makes me wonder if this is a scam. usually if people send court papers they are already processed. Also i questioned why there was no vat number on there invoice as they are charging vat. They said it would be on the reciept when i paid them. I told them to tell me what there vat number was over the phone but they would nt. Any normal company would provide this if they are vat registered. Also i have had a call back from trading standards and they state that they have had a lot of complaints from this company and will be investigating. Funny how i can t find a website on them as well, that seems very stange for a company who states they are a big company with customer service and legal departments.
- James replies to diane| 1 replyHi there
We have reported them to the VAT (for claiming VAT with no VAT number) and trading standards but the more people that do this the better.
Sorry for the late reply but I have only just seen this post.
They did exactly the same thing to our business a couple of months ago.
Let’s get one thing very clear, they are just con men bullying small businesses into paying something that they shouldn't.
Although they are very annoying there isn’t much you can do accept try not to worry about it and not to give them the time of day when they ring, as we have found two months down the line they just keep trying.
Good luck - AlisonThey rang again today asking my solicitors details.
I rang Trading Standards and they say they shouldn't be asking for my solicitors details on a small claim.
I'm writing a letter asking for VAT number and terms and conditions on the contract. If I don't recieve them then I will consider their company fraudulant and want no further dealings with them.(Trading standards told me to do this)
Has anybody been to the building where they trade from? as the envelopes are sent from Nottingham not Derbyshire and for them to have so many departements, wouldn't they need a bigger building? I think they are renting the space and trading from home so they have a front. No website so they can't be tracked.
I'll post what's said from my letter. I'm sending it recorded delivery so they can't say they didn't recieve it.- Caller: IDBC LTD
- DAMTHESCAMMERSWe also had this idbc people ring us over the May bank holiday offering to lower our rates. We did not agree to use any services and yet they sent us a recorded delivery letter "confirming we had appointed them! They are a rude and arragant bunch of liars/scammers. We called them to say we did not want to use their services and they claimed to have already got a reduction in the property value (within an hour!) during the bank holiday! There is a Mr. Jonathon Walker who is a very abusive person that keeps threatening us with calls but provides no evidence of a contract. We hope that they all get locked up behind bars!

- KIN2005Hi All,
I've just had a call from IDBC. Well 3 to be precise!
I was originally contacted by them a month ago. I was very hesitant about going ahead, but after asking more than once 'so no payment is required upfront or until its completed' they assured me it was not and I agreed. They then raced through a long distance verbal agreement that sounded different to what I had just been told!
Next day a letter arrives I have to sign for, which is the terms! They are now saying I accepted the terms and have proof of me signing for them. I signed for a letter, the content could have been anything!
About 2 weeks later I get a letter from them with a copy of a letter from the valuation office saying they are looking in to my case but no outcome of the case and nothing more than your case will be looked at, this could take some months!
With the letter is an invoice requesting full payment in 7 days.
I called to ask why they have sent me an invoice and thats when they turned nasty!
I have since written to them explaining I was misled, their wording is ambiguous & they have done nothing more than submit my business details to the valuation office as a case to be considered. They don't have any of my business rates information, I asked how were they going to manage my case and that I wasn't going to pay until they provided more information, they started calling and sending emails about added charges, court proceedings and unpaid invoices.
Their charge is criminal for what they have actually done. They are bullies and conmen!
I have spoken to TS and they said to search on here for people in the same situation. It would appear strength in numbers is the best way to deal with them.
I will not be paying them a penny and will happily go to court.- Caller: IDBC
- diane| 1 replyHI
update!!!! I recieved court papers which i explained to you all last time which they had nt processed last wednesday and i ignored them but on friday IDBC phoned me up asking me why i still had nt paid the bill. I explained everything to him as he was actually being very nice. He said well because i felt I had been misled he would be able to cancel it all with a £80 charge but that was the best he could do.When i said i wasn t paying it he then surprise surprise turned really nasty and said that it would end up going to court and costing me a lot more.I told him to do this and that i thought they had already started legal proceedings. Anyway they haven t got back in touch with me yet so i will keep you posted.- Caller: idbc
- DAMMTHESCAMMERS.Update: IDBC have sent us VAT invoice for £375.00+150 (late payment charges!) to pay within 14 days. They have not been appointed by us nor have they provided any proof they have actually done anything. As Alison mention, there is no VAT number so we will inform just as James has.
We have been asked by Trading standards for some of the names involved.
It costs more than £500 to take people to court and its very unlikely they will do so.
I hope that nobody pays anything to these bullies/scammers and that eventually the law will catch up on them. Has anyone contacted crime stoppers on 0800 555 100 or contacted them on web: http://www.crimestoppers-uk.org/fraud/help-and-advice/prevent-business-fraud.- Caller: idbc

- Nan replies to ellie| 3 repliesEveryone on here. Have a look at 08456806308. It's a different company, but strangely enough its in Nottingham. There is stacks of information on how to deal with these bullies.
- ellie replies to Nan| 2 repliesAw great thanks for reply, i have been off today , but my staff has informed me they must of called over 30 times, its horrific !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is just getting worst and worst !!!!!!11111
- J replies to ellie| 1 replyHi Ellie
I know its annoying but it does get better.
We use to have lots of calls and after we told them we wont talk to them, over time it gets better and they now only call us about once every two weeks now! But we just laugh at them now as they have run out of lies and threats. They'll move on in time.
Just stay strong and dont pay the con men anything, they cannot do anything to you at all and will never take anyone to court.
All the best guys.
