Received garbled message on answer phone.  Contacted number which turns out to be a company referring to Payment protection refunds

Got call from this No - VERY feint sound, difficult to hear but wanted me to press 5 ! It then went quiet so I hung up as it is probably a SCAM !

~Got three calls this evening from 08452863822 asking me to press five to fast track my payment refund, obviously I didint - no one would refund in this way   I hung up each time - thinking it was a scam, and I am probably right after googling the number I find these comments,  do not be fooled either to call back, as 0845, I  think is a high rate number.

2 calls received from this number.  Message left and the first word is a faint "policy" as if it's the last word a some missed sentence.  It then continues as the previous comments ie press 5 to fast track your refund etc.  Haven't phoned it back but will report it.

Had a message left on my answer machine by this number and thought I'd missed the start of it where it might have told me who the company was.  A refund is not beyond the realms of possibility for me, so I was curious.  Sounded scammy, but you never know, I thought.  I rang the number - I went through to an recorded message saying exactly the same as had been left on my phone.  Still no company name.  What genuine business wouldn't have their company name spouted out in the first two breaths - none methinks.  If I thought it was a bit scammy before, I'm pretty sure of it now.

I have just had this number phone me .. It says press 5 ... as if ...  just put the phone down ... must be a scam i dont av ppi ...

Just had a call from this number, I answered and allowed 5 seconds for a response... just silence so I hung up.  I'm getting fed up with these marketing/scam calls, so I've now got a whistle by the side of my phone.  The next time they call I'll blow it for as long as I can, then hang up.  Hopefully it'll disuade them from calling back!

We never answer, but sometimes they leave a message on our machine asking us to press 5!!!!!!!!!!!
Judging from the size of this website, this is a very well-known scam.
It must be illegal or they would give a name.
What are the Police doing about it?

Got call from this number on 18 Nov at 19:20 hrs. Recorded announcement about refund on PPI and offer to fast track claim. Do not have claim and call completely unsolicited.

This number called us twice this week, the most recent being at 2.05 this afternoon 21st November 2011.

Given that this was an unsolicited 'phone call and we have never had payment protection insurance this is an obvious scam.

We deleted the message without taking it further and pressing the buttons as requested!

I would advise you all to do the same.

Maybe the scam part is to get us to come to this webpage and look at the adverts for PPI that are dotted all around this website!!!

Second time tonight from a number I didn't recognise Put the answer machine on Last time it was silent This time something about a refund It didn't record but again a nuisance when I'm trying to cook a meal

Got a call ? message was abit noisey.

Received same call as other asking to press option 5. I hung up instead. The sooner this bunch of timewasters are put out of action the better
