I have received three calls from 08453014976. It started yesterday and has happened again today. They call when I am out, and it goes directly to my answerphone - but each time I just get a "-er" sound, as if they tried to leave a message but started speaking before my recorded message had ended. I have no credit cards with RBS, Natwest or Tesco, so I don't know why they would be calling me. Sounds very dodgy to me - is this a hoax?

I've had this call too.... they say it's natwest - I went into natwest this morning to check whether it WAS them and they said no it wasn't, there was nothing wrong with my credit card and if it was them, they wouldn't use an automated system to do so. IT IS NOT NATWEST or anything connected with them - this has been assured to me by the manager of my local branch themselves. I am going to the police tomorrow morning.

Ok final thing... Trading standards, Natwest, the police and scam busters have all told me that this number is a scam, DO NOT give your details out, DO NOT press any buttons. Call trading standards instantly. I have been assured that this IS NOT A GENUINE company collecting on behalf of anyone let alone Natwest, RBS, Tesco or Mint. Those people who have already left comments on here saying that it is genuine are either people connected to the number OR they have unwittingly given their details out and should contact the appropriate authorities immediately.

I received two calls at 8.30 and 8.40 this morning from the number above, and it's Bank Holiday Monday!! very annoying indeed.

They are calling me around 10 times a day, they leave a message but when I pay to collect my messages they have left nothing.

This is driving me crazy as I have no idea why they keep ringing.

Receieved 2 missed calls on my mobile this morning.  Rang them back and gave them my mobile number.  The guy on the other end searched and said that they were calling about an overdue balance on my MINT card.  Whilst on the phone I logged on to the Mint website.  Without me giving my card number or any login details, just my address and date of birth, the guy was able to give me the exact balance that was overdue on my account, according to the MINT website.  That would suggest to me that they are genuine OR they have some way of getting into the MINT / RBS account details without knowing the account number - I doubt that.  Despite what some people have said they seem genuine.

Yep, it was Tesco credit card chasing payment after they stopped sending me a paper statement when I registered online, news to me!

Final update to my comment of 27 May.  I gave the guy my debit card details and the payment was taken - appeared on my Mint account statement 3 days later.  Definately not a scam!!

Have had numorous calls claiming to be Natwest card services. Checked with Natwest who said nothing wrong with my debit card but could be to do with my Natwest credit cards. I rung this number from work, they started to ask me for my Credit card number, which I wouldn't give. They then asked me for the phone number they had been ringing, my name, post code, date of birth, etc.... I finally said I would not give them any more personal info as I did not trust that they were genuine. They said they could not proceed without this. I again started to say that I was not prepared to give out all my personal details over the phone to someone who keeps ringing me, but whilst I was in mid centance they hung up on me.

Is this the actions of a genuine company??? I still do not trust this number and will not be calling it again.

All I can say is, if in doubt, just hang up.

They will normally ask you to confirm your birthday from a choice of 4.

It is Mint and not a Scam but the way they are going about this is shocking.

I had this call, paid the bill, now the same call again.

I have just had a call from this lot (Natwest), first time for me.  Hung up straight away and Google'd their a**.  Low and behold here I am.

I hope they do not keep ringing me as a similar thing happened a few years back and it took about 4months for them to stop.  My network provider said they were unable to do anything about it.

I am live in Canada and have done for almost a year. This morning at 4am and then again at 6 am (Canadian time) I got calls from this number to my Canadian phone number and my Skype number! I have no idea why this number is ringing nor how they got my numbers!

had 5 calls today from this number, they say your name and ask you to press 1 to confirm and then they say they have an urgent message about your tesco credit card and need some security information to proceed - this is the point i hung up.. has anyone gone further? who are they?

My last message was on the 21st of May 08. This number unfortunately is genuine. About 2/3 weeks after the original phone calls I had to change my address on my natwest credit card, phoned the customer services, and changed it and asked by matter of interest had anybody tried to contact me. I was told that yes, the bills and payment line had tried to contact me 2/3 weeks before hand (the lady on the phone mentioned the right dates/times that the original calls had been). I also gave her the number that phoned me, which she checked on her system and confirmed that it was their billing call centre trying to get in contact with me.

Basically, it is genuine. But if I was you I still wouldn't talk to them. I don't think that this is a legal way of doing things (the police hinted to me as much themselves as did trading standards). When this number calls you, call trading standards yourselves and explain the issue exactly. I also suggest you call your credit card customer services and get their billing line to stop contacting you.

They are RBS Mint card chasing up late payments but even when you try to follow their instructions to tell them that they have the wrong number THEY STILL CALL.  They will not stop until you put in the number of the person they are after (how do you do that when you don't know who they are after)!!

I just had a missed call from this number, called them back... any company that starts with "Welcome to the Credit Card company, please enter your Credit Card number" is BLATENTLY dodgy to the max. I cannot believe anyone is fished in by companies like this!!! I am pregnant with mush for brains and even I didn't fall for it. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY DETAILS!!!

I've been getting the same thing, up to 10 calls a day from 7.30am with blank messages left. I do have an RBS credit card but paid it off 2 weks ago online so don't know why they're calling me but it's getting seriously annoying!!!!

They have called our new business line several times now, we don't answer the phone we respond to messages only. this line was installed about a month ago, and no one at this address is with RBS, Natwest or Tesco etc. They could have got our number off the net, but there is absolutely no reason for them to be chasing payments using this contact number.
