as above caller left voicemail stating my name, appears to know my land line and mobile number - called my bank who say no call has been logged or is needed.

It's a phising scam.  Do not call this, they will ask for your account details 'for security reasons'.  Never do this.

I was told they were calling from the Lloyds TSB collections department in Southend on Sea.  I have missed a credit card installment, so it could be a genuine call.

We've been getting about 3 calls a day from this number claiming they're for my ex. I spoke to him about it and he said that Lloyds definately know he doesn't live here anymore (hasn't for 5 years) so it looks like a scam to me.

This does appear to be genuine.  I gave a false postcode and they said it was incorrect.  When I said I would phone Lloyds they were fine.  I phoned lloyds and it is the credit card collection service - I had missed a payment...
The number they ring in on is 01273743574 - The guy from lloyds confirmed it was calls routed through from India and that they had a few calls about it..

Call was aimed at my daughter. Caller requested she call this number when she returned home from work as 'something had come up on her account'.
Caller refused to discuss further as it was my daughters account.

man claiming to be from LLOyds TSB wanted ME to give HIM first line of my address, postcode & date of birth so he could verify me in order to tell me something very important about my account. Was not prepared to do this & so he told me to ring this number if I was not happy

I too was left a message from 01273743574 asking me to call Lloyds on 0845 600 6393 regarding a "personal business matter". I called the number I was given and spoke to a customer service agent. It's about a missed credit card payment. I then called the Lloyds TSB customer services back again, this time by dialling the number printed on my credit card statement to verify if the call was genuine.... it was. They confirmed all the details of the first conversation. So don't worry . . . it appears to be safe.

After seeing these messages I became very worried because I had just given them my debit card details over the phone.

However, I checked with Lloyds TSB and found the payment had been made correctly against my account, and it had been logged on their computer system. So the number is genuine.

Please don't worry if you've called it.

I just received a call from 01733348969 asking me to call 08456006393 regarding a lloyds tsb personal business matter? reading the other messages on here i believe it to be regarding a late credit card payment, the disgusting thing is i could not understand a word the person said before the pre recorded lloyds tsb part of call, i m sure they were definately talking in another language not english? i assume these call centres handle calls in various countries and this caller must be confused??? You would assume that with mega late fees and heavy bank charges companies such as lloyds would be able to operate in england without assumed cost cutting using foreign call centres?? and of whom call at crazy times of the day or night?? Why do we simply have to put up with it, to be fair the bank closes at 5pm and if i require banking services simply have to wait for them to open on a business day, you would assume if they need to communicate with customers out of business hours in todays age Email would be acceptable??

I called Lloyds on two separate numbers and both confirmed that 08456006393 is on their list of valid numbers.  It does indeed seem to be related to credit card collection services call center in India since when I recently got a Lloyds Mastercard they didn't set up Direct Debit payments like I requested so my payment was overdue, which was the reason for the call.  But the weird thing is when I call it my mobile says "number not in use" !  The lady who I spoke to on the hotline said they would check into this.

In answer to those above who said that they don't have a Lloyds account - that's really weird!  Maybe you have a Mastercard provided by another company somehow related to Lloyds?

Received a call on Saturday 20th September with an indecipherable voice preceding a recorded message which said it was Lloyds TSB and could I call 0845 600 6393 to discuss a business transaction (or something like that). Called back on Sunday a.m from a work phone line but was told first of all that their computer system was down and could I try again in ten minutes. I did. I was asked my name, but only gave my first name and told the person (called Rajit) the time of the call to me the previous day and the number they called (my home number) so he could look it up. Guess what - he couldn't. He asked for my name and I told him I wasn't prepared to give it as I didn't know if he was genuine. He said I should call my local branch (of the bank presumably) if I was not prepared to offer my details over the phone. I then quizzed him as to which branch - my local one ?. Yes, he said. Well I don't have an account with Lloyds TSB, I told him. He stuck to his call the local branch etc. I then rang Lloyds TSB helpline to check with them and they confimed this was a scam to get personal and account details. I rang back the 0845 600 6393 number and asked them again who they were. they continued to say Lloyds TSB. I told them Lloyds TSB said they were not. Again they referred me to my "local branch." I accused them of operating a scam and said I'd report them to the Police. The Indian lady who took the call this time didn't seem at all bothered !

I receieved a call from this number but instead of ringing back the number they gave me I rang Lloyds from a number from the website. They said there was a missed payment on my card that it was there collection company in India phoning to receieve the payment. The man from Lloyds put me through to the department and it was a an Indian woman called Raj. I do think it is genuine but ring Lloyds directly if your unsure.

This is LloydsTSB credit card collection.

We got into quite an argument over the security checks.  As far as I was concerned, they had rung me and should provide the information - I would only provide the last letter of my postcode. We left the matter unresolved and I called an official LTSB to confirm as genuine.

What was amusing was when she suggested I check out their number; it came up with this page so I read the comments out to her.

With hindsight I probably shouldn't have been so stroppy - they were almost certainly calling about my last payment being late.
