SMS message telling I'd been reported for using a mobile whilst driving....totally untrue..I could phone a number back for more details ...I did not..Is this a scam please?

I received a sms text on my home phone from 08456021111 telling me that it was from 12345 and that order number 0517325389 was out of stock and that we send our apologies. Not sure what it is about as no company name or phone number was left. It could be genuine but I am baffled! Told me to go to www.fixedtext.com to change settings or stop messages.

Received phone call from 08456021111 this morning, didnt get to answer the call, rang back and it said I had no messages?

This number called at 9.50pm which I think is a ridiculous time to call. It is a text messaging service, when I called no message!

Same here 0845 602 1111 Has rung 4 times since 8:50pm.

time of last call  9:35pm.

This 08456021111 has just called me twice in 15 minutes,saying I had a text msg from a number  I didnt recognise,so I didnt press anything more,just put the phone down

my wife rang back by accident but I put phone down before call made and a woman rang back saying it was her personal no.

It is some kind of tet message holding service, but the links below show that that it is going badly wrong.  Some of the people using it seem to be doubtful characters,  Best avoid it at all costs.

08456021111 PHONED ME BUT I MISSED IT. BECAUSE IT WAS 10:30PM ON XMAS EVE,I GOT CURIOUS(THATS WHY IM HERE)IM SITTING AT THE PHONE NOW AND HOPE IT RINGS AGAIN. THEN I CAN PUT AN END TO MY VIVID IMAGINATION...YEAH RESULT. IT`S AN ANSWERING SERVICE FOR TEXT MESSAGES SENT FROM A MOBILE PHONE TO YOUR LAND-LINE.   MINES WAS FROM MY BROTHER IN LAW.   TRY IT YOURSELF`S IF YOU HAVE A MOBILE PHONE. I was rung at midnight on 24/12/07 then 0830 and 0845 on 25/12/07 by 08456021111.  I didn't pick up as I never do unless I can recognise the caller.  I suspect some horrid scammer.

this is associated with BT it is not a scam, i get them all the time, its when someone sends a txt to your house phone, they phone you with the message

does it cost anything to retrieve these calls i had heard its £10 a time, is this true ?????

Got a legitimate call from this number. It is a BT service that lets you retrieve text messages on your landline. Mine was from John Lewis telling me when my freezer would be delivered. Looking at the BT price list it appears this is a standard local rate charge
I would guess that scammers could use it to send you a message asking you to dial a premium rate number.

This number has rang my phone reguarly tonight, so after reading this coloum I rang it back! yes it's the BT SMS service informing me of an impending delevery and a joke in SMS form from my mate. So no problem its safe to pick up the phone on 0845 6 021111

I received a call today for this BT message thing!  I put the phone down thinking it was a scam, i am on NTL, so how can it be a BT service when i am not with them!  Hmmm very strange, i will never pick up one of these messages as i am so paranoid about being ripped off!

ive recently changed my phone number i am x directory and very few people have my new number yet i was called by this number at 4am today!!
