i got a call from this number also! I have just purchased a new phone on Vodafone from phones 4 u! I used to work for phones 4 u & i know they pass on some details to 3rd parties like the telephone numbers of new connected contracts so i think that it may be another insurance company trying to offer me mobile phone insurance!

I Work for phones 4 u! if this company call you on this number do not leave your details with them as the detailed insurance they offer is not completely truthful
this company is registered under the FSA.Gov.uk website registation number:455902 and the full company name is - Xennon Marketing UK Ltd However make sure you know what ur they are offering is the same insurance!!!!!!
I too just had a call from this number offering to reduce my monthly mobile phone insurance to £5.88 a month. They implied at the beginning of the call they are the same company I took out insurance with but they aren't and they are asking you to purchase an additional insurance. I don't know if its a scam but I would never agree to a contract on the phone - you don't have a clue what you are agreeing to. (PS I just bought a phone on vodafone from phones4u. The caller said the company she was calling from was called Securiphone.
Yes to confirm I got this call again today - it is a company called Securiphone and they are selling mobile phone insurance. I'd be pretty pissed if o2 or whoever are passing on new customer details to them, but I suspect they may be some sort of random dialing involved, as I think they can tell from someone's phone number the age of their contract etc.
They called me too having just bought an iPhone from an O2 store... Stupidly gave them some personal info before realising that it was not on the up and up!
I too have purchased an iPhone from 02 and have a number of missed calls from this number. I am waiting for 02 to get back to me about insurance and am pleased I have read these comments as I may have inadvertently been misled into thinking they were the same people. Thank you for your posts everyone!
I have just received a call from this number when i answered they disconnected. I recently bought a phone from o2 and specifically stated i did not want insurance or my details to be given out.
Just received a call from this number which i deliberately didnt answer. Bought a new mobile from Phones 4 U only 3 days ago and took out their insurance. This is now the 3rd company to have tried to contact me, presumably regarding taking outmobile insurance. I believe these "companies" know that the large retail mobile suppliers buy their phones in blocks (500?) with consecutive phone numbers. If they make a legitimate purchase it is a simple task to call the numbers 500 or so either side of their own number and they will eventually start to contact newly activated phones.
I got a call from these guys. I was given the hard sell on mobile phone insurance when I bought my iPhone from an O2 store last Friday. I'm pretty sure this is related.
They asked me if I was paying £9.99 for insurance (I said I hope not, I was quoted £7.50) and they said do you have an iPhone? (Yes). That was it. I asked them a few questions about who they were (Xennon Marketing on behalf of securaphone) and that was it.
I got a call from these Guys, I thought it was O2 and they said the insurance was changing to a lower tariff. They took my details and a payment (YES how stupid am I!) When I realised what was happening I cancelled the contract but they will take a £19 non refundable set up fee!! Is this legal?
This was the first call I had on the phone, so was sure it must have been 02. I'd like to know how they got the number.
They are Xennon Marketing, in Swansea they answer the phone as Securaphone
