they ring you and then pass you on to other select services. in my case it ws to pass me on to other car insurance providers/brokers.

received 13 missed calls in one day from this number following an online car insurance quote comparison. chinese voice answered when i returned call but didnt understand english.

Have been called over a dozen times on my work number since getting quotes on compare the market yesterday.  Thought they were doing me a favour putting me through to Swinton for a quote (they told me they had someone on the line who could give me a better quote than what came up on my search).  After wasting 5 minutes of my time the quote came out £60 more expensive.  They've called me again to say there's another company who want to give me a cheaper quote (which I hung up - not wanting to waste any more of my time).  Since then they've phoned every half hour (luckily I've got caller ID so I ignore them) but this feels like harassment.  SHOVE IT UP YOUR AR*E COMPARE THE MARKET AND DON'T GO SELLING MY FECKIN PHONE NUMBER - WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN TO COMPARE ANYTHING

Called me many times in March following online shopping for home insurance quotes. Reporting it late because I just found this site after having an even more annoying experience after visiting car insurance comparison sites recently.

I've learned my lesson.  You can't get a decent deal without using comparison sites these days, but I'll never, ever give out my real number again.

Same here - Compare the Market = got a call from them saying Halifax now want to quote me directly & now getting other calls - I am ignoring.

I can concur with all of this. I used comparethemarket.com earlier for a contents insurance quote and they have already tried to phone me twice. I checked/unchecked all boxes to avoid being getting calls and junk mail, and only gave my number because I had to. I'm going to go back to the site now and contact their customer service department and have my number removed from their records. It's the middle of the day, and like a lot of people, I'm at work and would rather not have my phone going off!

They just called me and then hung up.
I literally got a quote 30 minutes ago.

got through spoke to someone @ 3rd attempt asked for a supervisor threatened them will bt unrequited call dept  got apology hope thats the end of it

Ok. Now I know who tried to call me today and what to expect :-)

Called me this Morning every half an hour when i answered was told it was a company called "lexis" or something like that? and they called to offer me a competitive Car Insurance quote. i asked them were they got my details was told from Comparethemarket.com

Have been ringing me every 15 minutes from the same number, did a quote with comparethemarket at about 11 this morning and have had them calling me since 11.30, am getting very annoyed with them!!!! If I want to ring people I will do!

I have recieved 20 of these calls today. As I am registered with TPS how do I go about reporting this blatant infringement?

I've changed my details so that the only number they have for me is their own number. Hopefully this will cause them to implode.

This number has been ringing my number about 20 times today.  They may have got my number via moneysupermarket as I was looking for home insurance won't be using that website again!!!!
