Got my o2 sim yesterday after signing up to a monthly contract. Got my 1st call from this number today.... :o

As I have told them specifically when signing up with them i DID NOT want to be contacted, they are gonna get an earfull if/when they call back...

I moved to a new O2 contract a week agoand now get called by this number six times per day.  I never answer it.  I contacted O2 and they say that they don't recogognize the number and that I should inform the police.  Is this O2 or isn't it?

Received 2 calls from this number, when answered no response - call ended.  I have not returned the call just in case I get ripped off money wise.  Has anybody got any indeas on how to stop this happening?

Also signed up to new O2 contract and checked the no marketing calls check box and I've had 5 missed calls from this number today

Called me when I got my new O2 Contract phone, less than 24 hours from purchase. They claim to be O2 trying to get you to purchase insurance for one off payment of £79. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR DETAILS! They are a fraudulant company and what they are doing is illegal!

I got 5 calls from this number I did not answer and no messages were left.

This is on a Virgin SIM but I am in the process of porting to O2.

Update :: Got a call again which I did answer. Nice girl who then asked me for my post code / password for o2. When I said to her how did I know she was actually from o2 - she said she would put me on hold so I could hear the o2 music... pmsl

After I told her that I could put her on hold and she could hear o2 music herself i think she realised it was a lost cause... (after my i didnt wanna be contacted or sold insurance rant) :p

Well this is marketing and surely breaching their no O2 marketing calls option when signing up to them ....

I have been getting these insurance calls from various numbers some even claiming to be either Carphone Warehouse or O2 I have reported all of the numbers I have had so far to O2 and CW and they have nothing to do with scammers trying to sell phone insurance!  i have been told to ask them to tell me my customer before I confirm anything and report any new calls to them i am averaging approximately 4 calls a day for the last 3 weeks.  Take down as many details as you can and call CW or O2 customer services and they will look into things as they are trying to work out where they have got the numbers from

I have had missed calls from this NO but i am with Vodaphone!!!
i think its an insurance scam

I've been getting this number on my phone (O2) for the last 3 days, I have had my contract with them for since they were BT, They ring but because I'm overseas all the time the ring is different and they hang up before I get chance to answer. I have the number saved as IGNORE! so I can just let it go.

It is o2, a week ago I got a brand new o2 line, and I got a call to welcome me to the o2 network and to let me know what I was entitled to on my contract.

It think it is O2. Kinda. What I imagine is that it is your details passed on to a third-party call centre (not necessarily a third-party company) who then do the legwork on BTs behalf (which may be a welcome call and/or it may be flogging insurance). I used to work for a similar call centre that handled campaigns like this on behalf of big companies. So in short it's nothing nefarious...just kinda annoying.

I accidentally answered the call a few days ago after being plagued by them.  I disconnected immediately and have received no more calls since. Bizarre.

i am getting calls from this number from many days

Got a new sim card from o2 last week today I have received several calls from this number 08458630287 usually when I am driving so I am unable to answer.
When I am in a position to answer, the line just goes dead.
Very annoying when driving.

They asked for my password to access the O2 website!!!! told them It's personal and they shouldn't ask me for that. She put the phone down soon after that. Just tell them to P!ss off.

Canceled my contract with 02 yesterday, still have 1 month left, since then i have had 3 calls from this number. Havnt answered it yet, what do they want?

o2's own forums show its IS o2, but the call I got was decidly dodgy.

if they had offered to send the letter again or had proved or even identified themselves as o2 then I might have seen where it went.

I can not belive they were going to give me a phone upgrade as I got free top of the line phone less than 12 months ago.

Been with 02 for about 4 years in total, just under a year on current contract and got phoned by this number today for the first time. Didn't answer but i guess it could be o2 cos i'm due an upgrade in a few weeks and the might be tryin to get in early.
