My parents keep getting calls from this number. When they answer there is no one on the other end.

I've been getting this call to, on and off over the last year but I'm never home as they ring during working hours!

Been getting calls from this number over the last couple of days - 5 times yesterday, and one so far today.  Phone rings a couple of times, then stops.  May have had then at other times, and not realised, as just checked 1471 yesterday.

I've been getting calls from that number also every few hours for the last couple of days, grr. So, who do we complain to? i guess they want you to ring them back and this will cost an arm and leg?

I'm sure this is a British Gas collections number.

I had a call from British Gas last night, and since then the calls from 0845 955 5815 have stopped.  I looked up BG's phone number, and one of them is 0845 955 5715 (only one digit difference).  So, taking all into account, I guess that Russell's comment in probably spot-on.  But, why all the one/two rings and then stop?

Yes its their collection agency, if after a month you have not paid your bill, this automated call rings you every up to four or five times a day. It is designed to get you to ring them back and ask why you keep ringing then they will ask for your money. Annoying thing is even if you have paid the system keeps ringing twice then straight off. Clever or down right intimidation and greed??????

I've had 3 calls from this number today within the space of 3 hours - 2 rings then nothing. It's so annoying cos I'm off work sick and trying to rest but the phone keeps disturbing me. If it is British Gas trying to intimidate us then I'm glad I've already switched to a different company. Does anyone know who I can complain to?

i called british gas today about my account ,i said while im on ,can you tell me which department of british gas this number is for,i said it was one id wrote down and didnt no what it was for,the guy checked and said oh it for our dept recovery office, :) 16 times today rung twice and stopped....

im so scared about this mystery number... what do they want from me? okay, so theyve only called me once but its already doin my head in!!

i got 2 calls from this no. today, went dead when i anserder ,recon could be british gas. aint google great!!

This company has called us about 5 times today.  The phone rings twice, then cuts off.

This number has called my 5 times today already and every other day this week, i am not even with BGand never have been. I phoned them up and complained about it, i ended up talking to the manager of whatever department. I had such a go that they sent me a cheque for 5 pounds for my phon expense.

PAY YOUR BILLS AND YOU WONT GET CALLS!

I've been getting these calls since before xmas, to my mobile and home number, but every time i try to answer it they hang up, its so annoying and i'm not prepared to call them back to find out who it is.

Just found out who and what it is, it's the connections team at british gas.

I got a call on my mobile today from this number, a woman asked for someone else (not me), so to the comment below that "If you pay your bills you wont get calls"...NOT TRUE!! If they get the number wrong you can still get calls!!

Exactly the same issue, never been with BG myself (my flat had no gas and now where I live we use someone else for gas!) so for me to have to call them back is really annoying.

Even better when you work nights and they call and hang up 5 times while your trying to sleep! When I get to speak to someone they aint going to be happy.

Had two missed calls to my mobile from this number yesterday, following a very acrimonious call with B Gas's debt collection dept (I've written three letters without response in two months and told them that I would pay only when they responded) Had another call today from same number. Pleasant girl who listened (also told me that sometimes calls from that number are made from India). Advised me to contact their billing dept and gave me 0845 number. Wasn't prepared to pay for even a lo-cost number. But I got through by calling their freephone number 0800 0281028 which is meant for automated payments. Dial, listen to message, press 0. Repeat the "listening and pressing 0" twice more and you will get an operator. You can either then shout at the debt collection dept or ask to be transferred to billing dept. - who resolved my problem courteously and politely. Hope this helps

i get these calls intermittently too, it's really annoying. god knows who it is.
