WTF is this number for and who is using it?!
Have called multiple times over the last few weeks but i'm usually not around to answer it as it's during the day.
By chance have picked up the last 2 and they just hang up!!

ANYONE got ANY answers?!

I had a missed call from this number today, I called it back and it says "You have been contacted by a hosted contact centre service.  You may be called again in the future.  Thankyou.  Goodbye." followed by elevator music, which is unhelpful to say the least.  No idea who runs the service or who the caller is.  They probably just prank ppl and earn by on the callbacks at $4.95 per minute

I have had 3 missed calls from that number over the past week or so.  The last one (last night) had gone thru to my messagebank but they hung up straight away.  I never call people back unless they leave a message, but I am curious to know whats going on, and who they are.

They must be a bunch of idiots not to know when to stop. I am sick of them. Sometime they call six times a day.

I also had a call earlier today offering me a deal on delivery of the local paper. I requested a call back later after I had thoiught about it and the phone rang exactly when i asked for the call back however it hung up before I could answer and now cant contact them at all. ANyone know how to contact them?

They want to do a survey, and they try to sell you something.

The best things to stop them calling you is 'sadly' answer the call and said something I'm not interested.

They call every afternoon for the last 2 weeks - I don't answer, they don't leave a message and I don't ring back unless a message is left.

Just received a call now from this number, and also at about the same time yesterday. No message left, so they can go and get ****ed as far as I'm concerned.

They have done the same to me and when I tried phoning I received that stupid message about it being a contact centre.  If I manage to answer they are going to get a mouthfull.

Its a "Hosted Center Service" - they are a call center infrastructure that is in effect "rented" by many companies at the same time. I.e. A company without there own call center uses this infrastructure  to contact a database of people, to sell them products or services. The 1st time they called, they put down when I answered, but the 2nd time they called they tried to sell me a subscription to the Herald Sun. She said "It is Josie calling from the Herald Sun."

Just got my first call from this number today. Rang back and got 'hosted service' as well.

I received a call from this number 0870021000 and really shouldn't have picked up my mobile. It was some guy asking if anyone in my household reads the Herald Sun and if I'd like to have the paper delivered. And I said no thanks and he said would weekends be more suitable and I said no thanks and he said even though there is no contract? And I said no, we wouldn't be interested and he said well thank you for your time and I hung up. Knew the call was dodgy from the start judging by the weird phone number and def shouldn't have stayed on the call that long even. Dodgy.

does anybody know what company or person it is representing?

yeah i got a call from them today as well. it was on my missed call list cause i was at school at the time. I mean seriously.

I live in Tasmania.   Have had a dozen of these this month.   Don't see why they bother phoning since they hang up whether I answer or not.

This is a telemarketing scam centre who purchase their numbers from a company called Pacific Marketing. All the hang-ups are from the computer dialler – they should be made illegal! Any complaints to them just result in them offering the details for the 'Do Not Call' register, but they don't do anything themselves to remove you from the list they've paid for...

Wish this crap would stop... boycott businesses like the Daily Telegraph who contract them to scam us! (Call was at 6.45pm as well, hardly standard business hours for such a call!)

i just answered a call, it was a lady from the Daily Telegraph, asking me if anyone at my house read the Daily Telegraph or the Sunday Telegraph...

....it was a tad weird .....

Never Answer this nomber. I answered one time be charge $14.50 by telstra.

I just received a call from this phone number on my optus mobile but i didnt answer it, when I called it back from my work landline it just cut out without dialing..

They called us just recently. Very annoying since we are a number for medical emergencies.
