Had a call, called them back. Think they said the company name was CRAS? Not sure though.

They phoned me 2 days ago. It's the company where 3G network passed my debt for unpaid bill some time ago. They have all my details, everything sounds fine so I payed half by Debit Card. I's a little bit confused about the name of that company after I read last post but they will send me the confirmation letter so I will checked it - on statment there is C.A.R.S. not CRAS.

C.A.R.S.- Their automated system keeps calling me and hanging up.

They refused to tell me what that stands for but from the terms they used I surmise that it's a debt collection agency.

I have had 5 or 6 calls on my mobile from this number but when l answer there is no reply.

I had a call from this number. It's a debt collection agency called CARS, Creditlink Action Recovery Solutions. They say I owe £170 to 3G phone network, but I am mystified as I have never had a phone from this network.

if they call again and they will not except your explanation and will not redirect back to the company they represent, contact ofcom. if they get nasty, call the police. never give them any details, do not reply to any mailings, never sign anything, no matter what it is for from these people. if they turn up on your doorstep, do not let them in, they have no right of entry even if accompanied by a policeman.

They called me literally minutes ago (hence I'm here typing...). It is C.A.R.S. chasing a debt that I supposedly "owe" to an insurance company which I have never insured my car with. It's news to me!!! They had details for me which were over 4 years out of date and I cetrainly wasn't going to give them my current details.

In fact, their details were so out-of-date that the security question they eventually settled on me answering was "What is your mobile number?" - to which I responded "Doesn't the fact that you've just called me on it and I answered in response to your providing my surname suggest that I will be able to answer that one!"

I told them that I had no idea at all what they were on about and that the phonecall was so amateur-ish that I suspected it was fraudulent. He said that they would contact the insurance company in question and revert to me if  unresolved. I told them not to bother...

Just had a call from these too.  Twice in a week.  Looking for someone else.  [***].

My ex her family that lived here with me, were all in debt... She was in debt up to her eyeballs.
I gather that this numbers is from a debt collectiong agency then?
I get calls regularly from it and others strange numbers, from people chasing her, for money etc.?
She has been gone from the house over six months now... and thy're still pestering me?
Its getting on my Friggin nerves to be honest!!

just had a call form this company on my mobile, but they were asking for my work colleague who sits beside me!!!!

i smell a rat if ever i did!!

I mean why would he have my mobile phone, I can understand if it a lousy debt agency trying to blag people into parting with cash, but they couyld of at least got the name right!!!

Also no chance i could have ever been in debt, to young for that!

I had a call from this number and they asked for me by name, laughed then hung up. I think it is from a debt collection company working for Tiscali. They are chasing for ADSL rental charges, despite cancellation when we moved some 7 months ago. Tiscali are impossible to deal with. The cancellations line would be answered, put on hold, then disconnect after an hour...afer 3 atempts of this I called sales (answered by a human after 2 rings!) and asked them to book me for an install...just before the commitment I asked them to note my account number and told them to cancel my ADSL...explaining that cancellations wasn't taking a call. All is recorded for use in court later.

I just missed a call to my house by this number, and looked on this site to see who it was. When you said C.A.R.S I remembered a letter my husband received last week from them. It is over a debt (to elephant insurance, which is a whole different argument (!), although we'd have thought they'd have asked for the money themselves (if we owe it, which we know we don't) even once before passing it on). Anyway, letter was very unproffessional ('we will be at your home on thursday' - no date), but does have credit license no etc on it. So COULD well be genuine, just a very poor service! I have been told by several people that C.A.R.S are a scam. I apparently owed Tiscali £6.77 which I dont as I cancelled my account with them after receiving no service for the 1 and only month I was with them.

Another former Tiscali member that left had the same trouble as me and was told by Tiscali they have nothing to do with C.A.R.S and that you should never pay them a thing!!! Also they send unregistered texts saying they are 'David Shaw' and to call a 01256 number URGENTLY!!

If you have had any outstanding payments (or in my case even if you have paid up to date) call the company you supposedly owe and give them grief.

Some companies I know that suposedly use C.A.R.S are Tiscali, Lovefilm, Elephant and a few insurance or finance companies.

its creditlink account recovery solutions actually, perfectly legal, sometimes you do owe them and youv just forgotten, or moved house and havnt recieved bill reminders from your companies you do business with. i spoke to a lady there, she was very proffessional, david shaw is the manager, he sends the texts. just remember ppl these are also just humans trying to earn a living, its not THEM saying you owe money, its the big companies, just paying them to do a job, that are saying you owe money, thats where your rant should go. some ones gotta do it, whether its bin man or sewage worker, debt recovery or bailief
