This number keeps phoning me,and its really annoying me, i answered, and they just hung up after asking my name.  Any ideas of who it might be?

I have been getting loads of missed calls from them too.
I've just managed to get through now and spoke to a woman who was asking me if i wanted to take out a loan?!? they knew my name but were asking things like what is my date of birth and am I a home owner or a tennant.

It sounds like they are some kind of debt consolidation group. The girl said the company is called D&L and when I asked for the calls to stop she just hung up!!

Yeh I Got Through To Them Just a Second Ago It Was a Women, I THinl She Was Asian Not Sure She Just Said Is This To Do With a Missed Call And I Was Like Yeh You Called Me. And She Said Oh Probably Wrong Number Sorry Then Hung Up :S

the calls from this number started 2 days ago and is constant ringing!!!!! I called then back and a lady called tania answered then she hanged up! It's really annoying and I don't know what to do!!!! I can't track them! who they are!!!!!

Hi Again Guys. Ive Found a Solution. If You Say Your Number Is a Business Preference Number They WILL NOT Call You Back. This Is Because 'Business Preference' Is a Private Number, And if you Did Have a Preference Number You Can Sue Up To 5000 Pounds And The Law Has The Power To Shut Their Business Down, So Theyll S**t Themselves.

So Lie And Say You Have a Business Preference Number! And Watch Them Shiz Themselves! =P

just started receiving calls from this number...will now put the business preference number to test!!

i just had a call from this number an Asian woman called Tania knew my name and started yapping on about my monthly payments. I DONT have any monthly payments to anyone so i hung up. If they call back i will let you know.

D&L are Direct and Legal, a well known debt agency who will not stop calling despite what they say.  The call centre staff do NOT have the option to remove your number just like that no mater what you say

I've gone through this with them several times, the calls only stopped when I sent them a letter regarding telephone hasslement using template letter found on www.consumeractiongroup.com then in forum rooms.

Incidentaly it didn't stop the letters chasing for money owed.

as its cheaper than the 0870 number

rang me they knew my name address and date of birth ask me if i was the home owner and when i ask how and why they had my details they hang up. now everytime i come home and do 1471 its there number.

this company have rang me twice today. No idea why. Slightly annoying as most of my friends know not to ring me at work!

Tried to ring back but it shows up as 00870 dunno why the extra "00s" infront so it rings dead. If they ring again i will answer and tell them where to go!

I just received a miss call from them and when I rang back I got a bradley but then I asked what company they were and he hung up

This number just called and said they were calling in response to a letter they sent me about reducing debt. I said I had received no letter. They insisted I had requested a letter and were only following it up . I asked them to send the letter agin ! His name was Andrew....probably not his real name !

this number keeps calling my mobile and home phone really want them to stop its got to the point where i don't answer my home phone anymore.

A few missed calls on my mobile today from this number.  I haven't called them back though.

Left message on anwerphone but couldn't make out what they were saying. I don't appreciate calls on a bank holiday monday and so early in the morning!

Keeps calling my mobile - I won't answer a number I don't know.  Just typed in the number on google to see if it would come up, and got this site, so I thought I would add my annoyance............

I hope this will help all of you. They are a pain in the butt company, trying to get imformation and profit from you to give details to other companies.

I have had 4 calls in the space of 1 hour from this lot! Don't know who they are, why they are calling me as when I call back my call is important to them and they will place me in a queue for the next available operator.. then line dies! Why oh why are they desperate to get hold of me then don't answer!?!?!? I have now registered with TPS and sent complaint to them. Looks like they
