This number appears on my calls register when I get home most evenings. I am guessing its a cold-call sales pitch for double glazing or similar. Anyone out there know the answer?

This number rings, then hangs up as soon as you pick up. I guess they want to rip you off by charging you as when you ring back as its and 0870. Do not know identity.

had a call from this number 08702209318, answered the phone and some guy said oh sorry wrong number,

Had several calls from this number. It goes dead when answered. Very annoying.

Had several calls (about 10 since last September) from this number. It goes dead when answered. When I tried to ring back, no one answered the phone.

Same as everyone else, often appears on my answering machine, no message. Phoned when I was in, picked up, went dead.

08702209318 called me , there was a man on the end of the line who did not know I had answered???? young with a broad Scottish accent , calling to others in what sounded like an office or big room with people in it, they were shouting to each other about 'fags' I took to mean cigarettes. then he put the phone down. I am no wiser for it.

I have had a few calls from the 0870 220 9318 number and everytime I have answered it they seem to put the phone down for some reason.  I have heard various noises in the back ground before they have managed to put the phone down but nothing of any importance or nothing to identify the caller.  They can be quite annoying when you have just got the baby to sleep and the phone goes for no reason at all.

I have had several calls from this number,it hangs up as soon as i pick it up, but one day a woman replied and said it was a commercial survey.
(It was my turn to hang up).

I've had this number phoning a few times and it only ever rings a short while, so I've never made it to the phone on time.
I believe this is a ploy to get people to call them back and charge you a premium rate. After doing 1471 and realising it's an 0870 number I never call back for that reason.
Don't give them the time of day people, it'll be scam or sales.

This number has called me a number of times both early morning and evening but as it only rings for a few short rings I have missed it. Today when I did answer a girl with a scottish accent informed me that she was "working on behalf of a local firm in my area" ... before she could go any further I hung up!!!!

I would ignore it as I am sure it was going to turn into a typical sales cold call or indeed a scam.

Yup just had the same as everyone else. Some sort of office or pub even noise in background. Had one this evening and one at the week end.

I1m a Scot and i could tell the noise in the background was that of Scottish voices.

same as every one else i too have heard scotish and pub noises
its probabley some tosser on a mobile in the pub who needs to hit a target on the number of call they make in a day

I had a call from this number and some crackpot said "hello" in a very childish, sarcastic and unprofessional way. I immediately put the phone down.

the same as most of you, i just heard laughing in the background and then it cut out. what loosers

yup this has happened a few times.  answered the phone and it cuts off. dialled 1471 and it gave this number.  called it and it just rang.
vvvv odd.

I recieved a call from this number tonight and was very annoyed as i was trying to settle the baby.  A woman asked if i was the home owner, i asked if she knew what time of night it was then the line went dead.  I tryed to call the number back but there was no answer.
