One phone call from apparently Lloyds TSB wanting me to confirm first line of address and postcode. Then wanted date of birth and get this... mothers maiden name. Then two answer phone messages tonight asking me to phone this number urgently as its a 'personal business matter'.
Went into local Lloyds to which they said there wasn't anything flagged up on my account and suspected it was a hoax!
Phone call to my business number asking colleague to ring me back on this number stating they were Lloyds TSB.Automated response stated it was Lloyds TSB answered by what souded like a call centre in India, asked for surname and postcode, put me on hold then said they couldn't help me and to contact customer services.I am just guessing that Lloyds TSB will know nothing about it when I go in to ask.
I got a voice mail on my mobile at 13:28 this afternoon saying "Harry Tate?" (not me) then an automated message saying that I needed to call Lloyds TSB on that number about a personal business matter. My missed call showed a different number which when I called it was susposedly Lloyds TSB saying that I had been called by them and they would phone me back.
Someone called me claiming to be Lloyds TSB and wanted identity details. I said 'no' straight away because it sounded fishy that I should give my details when they are calling me. Caller sounded African female and the line kept going completely silent (no hiss or anything, unnatural)and there were big gaps between her sentences. Not right. She said it was to sort out a problem with my account and that she could give me a number to call 0870 3665378. Instead I called Lloyds using the number on my cheque book and they confirmed that this is a scam.
CALLER SAID HE WAS FROM LLOYDS ASKED ME FOR PERSONAL DETAILS I SAID NO IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY ACCOUNT MY BANK MANAGER WILL CALL ME I CALLED THE NUM BACK AND IT ANSWERED AS LLOYDS TSB (BE CAREFULL DONT GIVE ANY DETAILS OUT)
An indian woman called asking to speak with my boss but he was at out, she then asked me to give her his first line of his address and mothers maiden name as there was an important issue with his account that she needed to discuss. I told her that she needed to speak with my boss as i am not the account holder yet she still persisted, as if she couldn't understand what i was saying. I then put the phone down
Got a call asking for DOB and address! Claimed to be LloydsTSB This was the number they gave to call back on. - I actually called their 0845 606 2171 number.
My call is similar to most of the above. I missed the first two calls i recieved from the number 01273743574. I phoned this number back and got an automated message saying it was lloyds trying to contact me and they would contact me again soon. I went straight into my branch and they said they didnt recognise the number and not to give any information out if they rang again! Again they phoned and tried to get my DOB and address off me. I told them no and put the phone down. This another number they might try on- 08703665378.
I had a call, started off my human voice, then switched to automated, saying call them re a "buisness matter" on my account. I called the number and asked what department they were before I gave details (they asked for surname & postcode) they asked me to call my branch if I wanted to confirm who they were. I called LLoyds helpline and they said they didn;t recognise the number, but didin't mention that it was a hoax number either (which I suspect is it & feel LLoyds should be aware that it is and inform their customers)
Call started with human voice "Rachel Tart" then switched to electronic system asking to phone 0870 3665378 (Lloyds Bank, not LLoyds TSB!!) between 8.00am-9.00pm mon-fri about a personal business matter. Pretty sure as above this is a scam.
I've just had this so rang Lloyds customer services line.
They checked the number and it is from their credit card collections department, generally people have not paid there months payment hence the lack of information left on the message.
this happened 5min ago- how can it be aa genuine number about card collection if i've got nothing to do with Lloyds TSB?? Dodgy if you ask me. I'm certainly not ringing back!
Just had a message from this number, rang back in which they asked for postcode and name. They could not find me on there system so advised me to go into my local branch. Thought this was very dodgy but got a telephone number from my Lloyds TSB internet banking paqe and spoke to someone English who confirmed it was from there call centers trying to give a credit card and increase my overdraft limit just in time for christmas.
Had two messages from this number and from the 01273743574 number. First one was an automated message asking me to call Lloyds TSB regarding "a personal business matter". The second one was from a call centre in India I believe who were very persistent. I ended up putting the phone down. Am sure this is yet another phone scam. I phoned back on the customer helpline number on the back of the card and was advised to ALWAYS call that number only. They can then forward you to other departments if necessary! They then also took my debit card details to take a payment running through all the formalities only to say that they couldn't take the payment. Called the fraud department in the end. They logged it all and then CONFIRMED that the numbers were NOT Lloyds TSB no's. You have been warned!!
My ex husband had a message to ring 0870665378. He was told it was Lloyds TSB but that it was me they wanted to speak to about a personal loan. We were divorced years ago; luckily we still have an amicable relationship. We were both worried that someone may be tying to get a loan secured against his property, in my name! I first rang the above number but they would not tell me who they were until I had given personal details, which I refused to do for obvious reasons. I then contacted customer services. I spoke to a v. helpful adviser. After a long conversation and investigation about the telephone numbers (and quoting comments from this site), she eventually discovered that it is indeed Credit Card services, the number of which is not so readily available to bank staff. So it is bona fide. I am to ring Customer Concerns asap to inform them of the bad practice of that department.
