I was called by this lot about a cheaper package for the same service from sky
and foolishy gave my card details to them.Sky have no record of them and said
thay allready have my details and i should not have told them anything like that,i think daniel and his team are fraudsters,also this matter has nothing to do with maintenance so i have cancelled my card.I hope google look into this lot and check my suspistions,something is not right obout this lot.

I had this call today also.  he told me that I have been paying too much money every month for my sky service and he was calling to save me money every month, I didnt have to do anything this would change over automatically to the lower amount and they would send me written confirmation. I was taken in, up to the point where he said he wanted to confirm my bank details which made a wee alarm bell ring but i carried on anyway to see if he would give me the bank details, he knew I banked with a certain bank and then asked if my card number started 4912 which I said it didnt and he asked for the number as they must have it wrong! Fortunately I work for a bank and told him as much, stating that I pay my bills by direct debit and there is no reason for him to need my card number, he stammered his way thorugh a feeble excuse saying the payment system must have changed since I set up my direct debit and then mysteriously got cut off!
Dont give this guy your card number or any other details.

Exactly the same happened to me today. Claiming to be from 'Sky Maintenance Services', 'Daniel' knew my name, address and that my card started 4912. But I now know all cards from Lloyds TSB start 4912. Plus, I called Sky and they had no knowledge of them. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THIS LOT!!!

Somebody called alex called me today and i was sucked into it and after the call had ended i had realised that it was a scam, therefore i have rang my bank but they have said cancelling my card will not do anything as they may have already processed a payment so now i will have to keep an eye on my account and inform them if any payments come out of the account. Has anybody tried calling the number that came up on the phone which is 02071991612, there was no answer when i tried but they game me the number-08712344644 to call whilst i was on the phone to them.

1471 gives 02071991611 - yep exactly the same "daniel" he got my sky box type wrong which was my first clue - same speel about cutting my sky bill £2 down he knew my banks name and got the first 4 lines of my card wrong - which was my second red flag.  however i told him the numbers he said were correct and then he said can i have the main number accross your card and i said no you cant - sky already have my bank details and i do not give them out over the phone -  he said thats understandable you can call us back to make sure we are genuine and ask for some extension number 7002 or something like that-- thing is he told me that this number 0871.. was my new sky technical service number????????? it sounds well dodgy

the real sky protection team have had a lot of complaints they have nothing to do with sky dont be sucked in.If you need real sky protection plan go on sky website for telephone number.DODGY.

I had the same call - this time from a Gareth. He whizzed through some guff about paying £2 a month too much for maintenance and then gave the 08712 number saying it was Sky Technical Services. When I questioned how it could have happened that I was paying too much (Sky have not announced any price changes) he got a bit flustered and pressed on asking for my bank card details. I told him I would not give them to him and the call ended very quickly indeed. Very shady

I too today received a call from Gareth telling me I was paying too much for my sky package , that he could reduce my payments by £2 per month, I was at first taken in but when he asked for my card details, he gave the 1st three numbers incorrectly !! I immediately suspected something was wrong & refused to give my card number they are fraudsters is anyone looking into the matter.

I got the same call from Stewart. Considering all the Sky numbers are 0844, I was a little anxious, especially when he asked me to give him my card info.

He said that there were now engineers in my area and from this month forward I am able to be on the Gold Service Plan and am able to reduce my payment to £6.99 a month; a saving of a whole £2.01! I will get a letter in 2-3 days confirming all the details.

He was happy to just take the card number and the expiry and when I get the letter confirmation, I an call back with the 3 digit number on the back.

I have just spoke to a Sky Maintenance Services manager and he has explained that they are offering a reducation on our current protection plan (of which I don't have one!) and would have taken our phone numbers from a collected number during marketing sweeps.

From what I can make out, it is a maintenance agreement which is not regulated by the FSA, only trading standards. From past experiences, the FSA are cracking down on maintenance or service agreements to make them become regulated so things can be cleared for the consumer.

They are in no way affiliated with Sky and do not actually say this on the call, which I think is wrong but the manager says they should do as it deviates from their script.

The company are aloud to offer this in it's current format but, when the FSA change the rules, they will have to change their ways. The more people complain to the FSA, the quicker the change will come about.

A man called Jordan called stating he was from sky mainenance and they had an offer to update my equipment give me more call and to save £2 per month however they needed to cancel my current direct debit and set up a new one to make it quarterly to qualify for this saving. I asked for him to put it in writing and I would get back to him but this was not possible as he told me i would need to agree and set up the package to receive the information.
I said i would call them back but rang a number for sky from the tv and they informed me it has nothing to do with them they would not need to cancel my current direct debit as they already have that information and if it was a sky representative then they would have identified themselves with security questions etc! Dont give them any of your details even if they can give you some of your as they had some of my friends details but not all!!!!

Just had the same call from steven!
First thing he did was give me the number above claiming he could save me money on my sky package. He also stated that I had a sky plus box and I corrected him saying i had an HD box. He then asked me to confirm the first four didgits on my card but I wasnt sure but said yeah that sounds right. He then asked me to read him the full card number which set the alarm bells off big time! I said he shouldnt need them as I pay by direct debit and that I didnt believe he was who he claimed to be. He became flustered and said I should phone back and speak to one of his supervisors. Obviously I didnt call on the number he gave me I called sky direct and it is not a sky tech support number. The girl at Sky phoned the number herself and confirmed they are a third party maintenece company who will cover your sky equipment. Obviously thats not who they claimed to be on the phone to me, he claimed he could save me money on my sky package, not some sort of maintenence insurance. They sound a real dodgy outfit to me and I wouldnt want anything more to do with them.

I was also taken in by 'Daniel' who said that he already knew the number of my debit card and wanted to confirm the last 4 digits.  I stupidly gave it to him!  Sky have no knowledge of these people, even though their website skymaintenance.co.uk features a picture of a Sky van.  Further examination of their website reveals an address of '15 st. Cathetrines Road, Bournemouth, BH6 4AE' - there mispelling of 'Catherine's', not mine.  I received a letter from them with another Bournemouth address 26 Harewood Avenue, BH7 6NQ.  The website is registered to yet another Bournemouth address 11 Barrow Way.  All of these addresses are private homes - they could be the addresses of the people behind this scam or totally innocent people.

I had the same call from a Guy called Jonathan he informed me that I was paying too much for my monthly tariff and he could reduce it over the phone. He didn't claim to be from a maintenance company but sky billing. I was anxious when he said we would need to reset my password over the phone and then asked me for my password. I said I was too busy to go through with it right now and he became flustered. Must be a fraudster, beware!

Had a call from "Jake" - if that was his name.... claiming that i was paying £2.01 too much for my Sky each month, and wanted me to give him a new password to use for my account, once i said that i was not willing to do this, he then moved onto asking me for my bank details. he was assuring me this was a legit company and gave me the number of 08712344644, but when i did a 1471 got this number: 02071991612. just a warning to all. looks all too dodgy to me.

Also received a called today from 08712344644 a guy claiming he was from Sky- Tech Support Team! not sure of his name, very pleasent and well spoken! also claiming to save us £2.00 one tariff because we only have one Sky box in the house.
My phone call was identical to the previous comments, asking for banking and card details. I have reported this to the Financial Department at Sky, asked them to report scams to their Chief Executive department, "shall not hold my breath with it!! Do not have too much confidence as to this happening.
I have to agree, all looks very dodgy!

My call was from 'Sam'. Usual guff about saving £2.01. I have a rule about NEVER giving bank details to people who phone me, so he got nowhere. I said I'd check out the website and he gave me a number to phone back - then I found this lot. I'm not sure about whether they're scammers or not, but they're definitely operating under false pretences. Give them a wide berth!

i got the call from a chap called jordan call 08712344644 ext 649 wanting me to cancel my direct debit with sky and set up a new one. he had everything right apart from my name!!! he was using my married name and sky isnt in my married name. i called sky and they told me to report it to the police which i am now going to do. thats for this site

Had a call from this lot today think the callers name was carl. He spoke very politley and clearly about the maintenance plan on my box. He said i was paying to much and i signed up with them. Good company and very quick to come out when something goes wrong. Here's there companies house number 6879230 made sure i checked it out right away.
