I recieved a call from this number about half an hour ago, I'm on Vodafone..
It rang for about a 3 seconds, then went off, I rang back, they answered, then hung up. Who was it?

mine is on mobile too but on lebara mobile. this is very strange. all off us received the call this evening

It sounds like what is known as 'CLI dumping' and they're just trying to get you to ring back so they can make money from ther premium rate calls charges.

Got call from this number. On my 02 mobile.

It's still at it this morning. I complained to vodafone that my number had got into the hands of several of these types of spam/scam callers and was told they had "done thenecessary" but my guess is that once your number's got out it's there for good. A tip I picked up from whocallsme for iPhone where you can't block numbers isto put your default ringtone to silent (google how!) and then give the numbers you want to answer an audible ringtone. Spam callers need their necks wringing!

Just had a one ringer from this number and foolishly called it back.  Was asked to hold the line 'due to a high volume of calls'.  Has to be a call back scam.

Just had the same as everyone else. The number does not show on payphoneplus.com either. Have called back but the just say "Thank you for calling (NO BUSINESS NAME).

this is an Indian call centre that are pitching to put you in touch with agencies that arrange loan write-0ffs.

I just got a call too from it, was hesitant to ring it back as it's a number I don't recognise and looks very suspicious so I thought I'd check it out. Cheers for the comments guys, it's obviously a call back scam. Really peed off that they've got my number though, I've had a few spammy texts/calls I hope I don't have to change my number.

Company offering to write off your debts sounds about right. I'm not naive enough to ring them back, but I've had quite a few calls like that. Obviously when you're cold calling people with bulls**t offers you're going to get told no naff off quite a bit, so they're just trying to get you to ring them at your cost. Says quite a lot about whet they're selling that they're trying to get you to call them...
