called my number with the wrong name but still tried to get me to tell them who i bank with to allegedly get back banking charges

Called this evening said they were calling on behalf of CMS claiming they could get back bank charges from RBOS if I paid them £49.50.  They said this £49.50 would be returnable should they not get bank charges back. THEY NEW MY FULL NAME AND WHAT BANK I AM WITH!!!

I did a bit of googleing and they are mentioned in here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3827419.stm , glad i didn't reveal anything.

They gave me an adress of Dudley St, Port Talbot SA1 31YY but it doesn't seem to exist

There is a Dudley Street in Port Talbot with a Post Code of SA11 3EY, not far from Neath Station.

Perhaps someone in the area can be more specific about anything thereabouts claiming to be CMS.

Are these really the same CMS who phone claiming to be able to help recover Bank Charges?   The BBC story is on a completely different tack.  

Are they also the same people who describe themselves during calls as Credit Management Services?        Unfortunately there are several Debt Collection organisations of that name.

Also been contacted firstly said they were from my bank they knew my bank details and sort code.
Very worrying became a bit aggressive when I wouldn't tell them anything else.
Had difficulty understanding the accent. Tried hanging up but they kept ringing.
Beware all folks out there something doesn't feel right!!!

Got a call from these people about 1 month ago, same scam, we can claim back your bank charges. they called back today and started to request info, alarm bells rand as soon as they started to dig into my details so gave them spoof info to see where they were going. They are fairly clever in they ask you disjointed questions to try get all your bank info  When they asked for start date and end date of my card and other card details I told them to go away, then got a call from the same person claiming to be the office manager trying to assure me all was OK, told him to go away again!

Same crap, only new second name, asked for first name, told them different to what was on card, they asked for bank card no.at which point I was convinced it was ascam and politley told them to F**k off. addres was Beverl st dudly port talbut west glamorgan SA131DY tel08717899102
BEWARE!!!!!!!!

18th Oct  I had a phone call claiming to be representing The Ministry of Justice.
Phone number of their customer services is claimed to be 08717899102
Their address was claimed to be
CMS, Shell Building, Beverley Street, … West Glamorgan SA13 1DX
They requested bank debit/credit card details to confirm name and address to recover bank charges over the last six years.
4th Oct similar call but no details given by them, they hung up when I asked for his manager.

Both calls started with something on the lines of "We act on behalf of Ministry of Justice". I have emailed MofJ and got no reply! They do have lists of approved companies, some financial .... there is one called CMS, but not based in Wales.

Can't believe how many people have actually had these calls too!

An asian lady called around an hour ago claiming that they could get my bank charges back for me from the last six years plus 8% interest, was thinkin hmm this doesn't sound quite right!!
I was also given the number and the same Beverley Street address and she then passed me through to another asian man for 'verification' as soon as he started the drivvle about how the only way they could verify my details was if i told him how my name appeared on my debit card thats when the alarm bells started ringing and i then asked him if he was going to be asking for my card details too, he siad yes so that is when i hung up.

Is there any wonder as a society we don't have any trust in each other anymore if we have people like this trying to scam us everywhere we go?

My mum got the ame phone call and confussed her into giving bank card number. I got the card stopped, asp. Lucky they had not tried taking money!

I got a call from them. Same story, same address, on behalf of the "Ministry of Law of Justice". I googled it. Couldn't find it. But because my handbag had recently been stolen, I was very suspicious and asked them how come they had my phone number but not my address. I asked for a URL and got www.cmsreclaim.co.uk. I doesn't exist. I said I needed to verify a few things before taking it any further and ended the conversation. Thank god I didn't give them anything.

I have just been called on an ex-directory number from these cowboys!! He sounded quite foriegn, Asian I would assume, and quoted various pieces of information from my bank account which I would have previously considered personnal and private! Made claims about being able to get back any 'illegal and unfair' excess bank charges and that they worked on behalf of the Ministry of Justice. Pushed quite a bit for my address and when I asked difficult questions regarding their financial rewards from the whole exercise he quickly hung up.
Just how much information regarding out personal accounts is out there? How can criminals, tricksters and shysters obtain it and use it against us?
Beware of extravagant claims and promises and never ever sign anything until and unless you get it checked by an expert.

Just had call from company called credit management systems with the address in beverley street, west glamorgan. I hung up as soon as they started asking for details about my bank account. Strangely, they called me Mrs Cooper which is my partner's surname. They had also asked if I had statements sent to my home.

Kept the guy on for just over 10 minutes to waste their time...I think that if anyone gets a call from these people, they should keep them on the phone as long as possible. Waste their time, waste their money.....

just had a call from cms. alarm bells rang immediatly when asked for card details. asked for info to be posted but they said they couldn't without card details. Same address in Port talbot but they did give a phone No. 08000664721 and web address that doesnt exist. My wife managed to keep them on the phone for about 20 mins just to waste their time.

they r disturbing me  several times within during my personal work as well..

i want to request  tfor a quick action on this  no .....

I had the same call do hope they get track down and charged for fraud they new my address but refused to say where they got my number and details from. When i request they send me the information first they refused that just put the nail in the coffin they are here to STEAL if you get a call from them just haung up.
