- Grim replies to newsAlso called by this number, sorry no idea as yet 1471 3 returns silence.
- FrancisDon't know who the caller is but they seem very interested in my computer! Told them I didn't have one! End of call.
- Oh No, Not this lot Again! This is the crew, or one of the crews, working under a further pseudonym, who try to persuade you that there is something wrong with your PC and whose calls can be found on this site from a range of numbers and organisation names. I have had numerous calls from them
Your PC is as clever as have 'told them' somehow - they profess to be able to see what it is doing - that it is stuffed full of malicious software and other nasties that are going to eat it. They try and persuade you that it is about to die without their intervention, ultimately to get you to give them remote control, do goodness really knows what, and charge you for the privilege. This could be a good thing it it were credible, but their sales tactics tend to undermine the notion of their being angels of good intent
The approach varies. Used to be to tell you that you had picked up nasties in emails etc. Then, when they found that people who had virus checkers etc knew better, they told you these were the things those wouldn't pick up and got you to look at 'Event Viewer' and try and frighten you with yellow triangles and red/white crosses, quite forgetting to tell you that 99%+ of those are no big deal, but if you didn't know better, you could be taken in
They now seem to have a new approach, asking you to go to the 'Run' box and enter 'Clsid'. Whatever, you do, don't do anything they say that lets them initiate any commands there!
They can be really funny, too, when you tell them to go away. Quite miffed, and they seem to lose all sight of their original good intentions
In summary, in an ideal world, these people would fall off a cliff on a dark night- Caller: non specific computer maintenance blah blah
- Call type: Telemarketer
- mistyeyesI've missed 3 calls from this number in 3 days. Having read the other messages on here, I'm not surprised it's the 'there is something wrong with your computer' story! I've had calls from them before and they are really quite stroppy when I've said there isn't anything wrong, and that I'm going to hang up. I'll make sure I give them what for next time they call!!
- tcsmanJust taken a call from "Windows Service Centre" calling from this number. This was essentially the same call as I had earlier in the week from 02538020308. When I said "go on" in a knowing and rather menacing tone, he hung up...!
- Caller: Windows Service Centre
- Stuart WThis number has called twice today - fortunately use answer phone to screen calls and they don't seem to want to leave a message.
- SHEILA B| 1 replyYes it was them yet again. 3 calls in as many days. They seem to have a new tact. Now they have realised a woman is going to answer the phone a very charming woman is now ringing me. First asking me how I am and what sort of day I'm having. Don't fall for the charm she is still after your personal details. I told her to get lost and not ring again.
Bet it doesn't work.
After having at least 20 calls in the last 3 or 4 months why should they stop now.- Caller: WINDOWS ???

- angelcakethese people are phoning everyday saying there is something wrong with my computer, i told them i was going to work. the lady on the phone told me it would be my fault if my computer stopped working. i kept informing her i didnt have time to deal with this but she was very persistant. i put the phone down. i tried phoning the number back but the line goes dead, will be checking my phone bill to make sure i havent been charged for phoning them. def a scam. they went under the name of microlites.
- AliceThis number calls me every day at the moment. I have subscribed to a call blocker scheme but it gets round it somehow. I never answer it. Also get calls from what looks like 1109 and 1090. What could those be?
- cargengetting daily nuisance calls from this number at antisocial hours. when I don't answer it my phone clicks away at the end of the ringing session which is disconcerting to say the least! - not happy with situation as up till now I have never had anybody answer at the other end when I have lifted the phone.
- Louise| 2 repliesThe callers from this number say they are from Windows Service Centre, Microsoft or Megabytes, Windows is part of Microsoft & they DO NOT call people at all to say they have come up on their system in showing that you have errors on your computer. These are spam calls to make you believe you have problems then charge you big money for very little work that did not need doing, plus over charge you for new anti virus software. I've told them not to ring me any more as I am a qualified PC engineer, yet they still ring me several times a week. I have reported these spam phone calls to Action for Fraud & the police, plus I have been to my local paper to warn other people of these spam phone calls.
