If you just call the 800 number that someone leaves and not the 101515800 that says to call, you shouldn't be charged - right?

I called Aetna Insurance company to pre-certify a patient and got the message that the number has been changed to 10515800.

I was updating the rolledec of the office I work at, and I called a number the previous secretary had recorded as a 1-800 number for "IBM Typewriters".  I got a message that the number had changed, and I was to call 10-15-15-800 for more information about the number.  The number was presented in a way that international calls are presented, so I googled it.  Lucky me to find out it was a scam :)

Got a call with a great sattelite television deal, left 800 number called it and got message to call 101515800 for more info.  Luckily googled the 800 number and got nothing.  Googled 101515800 and found this site.  Great site!  Thanks!  Glad I didn't get sucked in!

You can add 800-836-5370 to the list.  Got "an important call about my account" from one of those fake recorded people that companies like to use so much now days.  I called and was told to "call this new national directory to find out about the number you called" - 101515800.  I did not call the number.  I googled the 800 number to find out that the 836 exchange does not exist.  I then googled the other number and ended up here.

Don't have caller ID on the land line.

Tried to order computer equipment from Chipmax.com. Had a problem with billing so I called their # 800-824-3029. It directed me to 101515800. Obviously a bogus web site.

Got a call today from this number - 1-800-695-1905 called themselves main st. hosting, had a question on about their website. Done

I received an automated call on my dorm room phone number looking for Carl Bazemore.  I tried to call the number 1-888-716-0010 to let them know that this person did not reside there.  It then referred me to dial the number 101515800. I stopped there and they still have attempted to call me twice with this scam.  Any advice? Should I notify the university about this possible scam?

Ok here is the scoop. I got a call and the person left a message to call 877-505-8474 about some unusual transactions on my debit card. The caller identifed themselves as a representative from my credit union. When I call the 877 number I was redirected to call 101515800. So, I called my credit union using the phone number listed on the credit union web site. I found out that the 101515800 number is an international fraud alert company for VISA. The 101515800 number is their international number so yes you will be charged international rates. DO NOT CAll it instead look up the number for the bank or credit union you got your debit or credit card from and call them. There may be fraud activity on one of your cards and you need to check it out directly with your bank.

add 1-888-432-0136 to the list of numbers above whose message tells you to call 101515800. They called about a debt for my ex wife.  No, I didn't call that number, knew better

I called a regular number and was told to call 101515800 to get a national number for this business.  when I called the local number for the business, the number has been disconnected.  When I called 101515800 I was told that all circuits were busy.  I'll be certain to check my phone bill to see if I'm charged for it!

Aggressively calling at least once per day from this phone number, to my office telephone. Luckily they have all been while I was out of the office. I tried to call the number to see what it was and it said to call 101515800. I Googled it and got this web page. I figured it was a scam. No US phone number is that many numbers.

I received a call from 507-345-4299. A recording came on and told me their representatives were busy but I should call 1800-749-1851. I did hoping to give them a piece of my mind!  A recording at that number said the telephone number had been changed to 10-15-15-800. I did not call, but I am sure glad I googled it and read your responses. Thanks!

Called Flashweb, an on-line yellow pages to complain about a misleading call they made to my business.  When I dialed their contact number of 866-849-6759, I as advised by recording I needed to call 101515800 for assistance.  Flashweb's information is:  16192 Coastal Hwy, Lewes, Delaware 19958.  888-204-4001, www.flashwebinc.com.  I spoke with a Jonathan Gonzalez and a Rachel Garcia from their business - neither sounded like they were American.  I filed a complaint with the BBB of Delaware.

Look, here's what you do: (a) call 800-944-9646, (b) order them to remove the charge because you know it's a scam, (c) the operator from the billing company (OAN - Operator Assistance Network) will fully credit your account on your phonebill.

The original scumbag company (10 15 15 800 or 10 275 ACCESS) charges you. They hide behind OAN (the billing company) who fields all the angry phone calls. OAN hides behind your phone company (e.g., in my case Verizon).  So, there's two layers of protection between you and the scumbags at 10 15 15 800.

You see this bogus charge of $5/min on your bill, and angrily call your phone company.  Your phone company says "Oooo! It's not us.  We're just receiving the bill from OAN. Call this number at OAN..." You call OAN, fly off the handle, and OAN innocently says "Hey! It's not me.  I'm just the billing company." After an hour of tracing this thread you finally get to OAN. I want revenge...I want the Feds to jail someone.
