Just got one today ... no one says anything ... recorded voice says "good bye" after a minute

I got the same call and same message. Why do these people keep calling me! I need to know who
these idiots are not leaving a message or anything.

I got one too.  I think it might be a call center checking if our phone numbers are connected and working.  this is only a theory.  They might be making a listing of working numbers in various area codes and selling them to advertisers, call centers or some other low form of life on the telephone network.
