Called in the evening. Didn't leave a msg.

called 3:17 cst on 3/25/13 nobody talked, called them back and incorrect number

just started receiving calls from same number as well....scam???...phishing???

Called me but hung up when I answerd

Received a call from 1-123-456-7809  this is the second time they called and wont leave a message.  I won't pick it up and after reading posts it looks like its a huge scam.  Shut down this phone number.

Go a call from the 123-456-7809, 4/17/13-7:52PM....want to let me know that my compute was ready...I don't think so...and told the lady at which point...she hung up...what gives?

Over the past 3 months they have called me from this number at least 8 times on my home and cell phone.  They are indian accented people who call and tell me there is a problem with my computer and they need to fix it.  I have never let them get far enough to find out what type of information or scam this really is.  I wish I could block them or that they would stop calling me.
The last guy was rude and offensive and I guess I will just not answer the calls anymore and maybe they will give up.

This was the sickest yet.  Heavy Indian accent guy says he is calling from the Computer Maintenance Department to check on my computer then was proceeding to ask questions.   Completely [***] ploy, whatever it is or whoever it is, not emanating from the USA.  My suggestion is to answer these calls and rip the "operator" a new one.

It just struck me that I have laryngitis today, and I may have sounded elderly.  This caller has, in the past, hung up on me and others - perhaps they are hoping to hear a "vulnerable" voice on the other end of the line for this scam.  When they don't, they hang up.  Food for thought, next time answer like you are old and see if they speak!?

Got a call from this number.....what should be done about it?

This number calls my work every now and then but when I answer they always hang up. They mustn’t target businesses

They've been trying to call for like four days so I finally picked up. It's a call from two people with an Indian accent a woman first and then a man saying there's something wrong with my computer. That it is downloading encrypted files or some such thing. They said it was a "check-up" call and they are from Windows maintenance department and they have the only program that can take these programs off my computer. Now I have Kaspersky and Cleaner and I'm not worried about my computer.  I didn't let it finish to the end because they were trying to make me access a website that would do heaven knows what to my computer and personal information. I know that when I've had work on my computer in the past through Windows the maintenance techs can get on my computer to fix it. So I had no interest in letting a complete stranger poke around my computer. Windows would have sent everyone an e-mail or something if they were going to do this. I accused them of trying to scam me and he started talking to someone else and put me on hold. So I hung up while I was on hold.

Keep calling my work in Australia. Hang up when they realise its a business.

it rang, the answering machine came on, no message...If I don't recognize the number, I don't pick up..but it does get annoying.

The caller wanted to know if I  had an computer so they can get info

1st she asked to speak to my husband, he passed away 41/2 years ago. Then she asked if I was the primary user of my computer & if it was off please turn it on because someone was trying to hack it. I answered yes you and hung up. I notified my local police dept. and was told it definitely was a scam, they want you to go to a specific website so they can steal personal information. DO NOT DO IT.

Its some dip S*** calling about computer I told the first call I had no computer this one call didn't say nothing, Help stop this crap.....

I got the same calls.  I now enjoy messing with them,  I ask them for their name and where they are calling from, etc.  I want the name of their company and phone number and that I will call them back.  Then I let them speak.  I then end with the fact that I do not own a computer.  They hang up.  I figure the minutes they waste with me is saving someone else!
