So I'm sitting here at my computer doing some homework and my phone rings. Considering the time, I just assumed it was my girlfriend calling from work to see how my day was (I'm at University 0700 - 1700 and she works 1600 - 2300). Anyways, it turns out it is NOT my girlfriend, but strange lady with a very thick accent claiming to be from Primus. She knew my first and last name and claimed to know what company I was using and what prices I was paying. Not really knowing off-hand what I am paying, I sort of agreed but didn't really care. She asked me how often I call long distance, I said "Never" and she said, "Good, you'll be happy to know that our long distance prices are the lowest!" .... Okay, something fishy is going on. She knows my name, claims to know my telephone company and bills, and then doesn't even listen to what I say. She asks me if my phone number is 516 yadda-yadda-yadda, but it's not, it's 519. She then goes, "And your address is Medicine Hat, Alberta..." I live in Calgary and was born (and bred) in British Columbia. She then said, "Oh you moved, well thats good can I please get your current address?" By now I knew something was going on and said, "I don't know what my address is offhand" she says, "Oh that is going to be a problem" and hangs up. Scam? I'd like to think so.
