I am not getting calls from this one. Telstra reports that I am periodically sending texts TO this number. Its not familiar to me, Telstra CSRs tried to find out what it is, but it doesnt appear to exist and it cannot actually be texted TO or called. It costs me 25c every time.
i also am "sending" these messages. it is wasting all my credit on me. i have an iphone and i dont no what it could be. i like kyteflyer rang telstra and the operator was baffled he sed hed pass it on and get bak to me. iv tried everything i just fully restored my iphone to new and as soon as i put my sim card in it sent one. altho i didnt no i had to check my history on telstraprepaidplus.
Hello, I'm a tech and I've been trying to investigate whether this is a network or handset glitch. I am trying to gather more examples. If you can please report your handset model IMEI and software version. You can find your IMEI by pressing *#06*. Just supply the first 6 digits (there is no need for the rest).
Ben for the iphone you can find your software version in settings->general->about->version
I'll come back and check this space, if you decide to provide info.
Hi Technician - i think you are the guy i spoke to today (31 Oct) from telstra 1800IPHONE about this problem with my iphone and NextG PrePaid (you're calling me back on Monday?) :)
Anyways, some reference info for all.
Software Vesion on My iphone - 2.1 Same Probs as everyone else, History shows a TXT to 125100474 if i put the sim in the iphone, if i leave it in the phone it will continuosly 'TXT" to this number every 15, 18 minutes. each cost 25c
Nothing shows in my messages on the phone, only if i check the history.
This is my second Iphone (first one had faulty loudspeaker out of the box), and they both have done the same thing with this 'TXT' number thing. Both phones were brand new out of the box
I upgraded my sim to a NextG one prior to getting the iphone. It still works fine in my GSM handset (where it currently is until i sort out this problem)
This one has me stumped. My gut feeling is maybe there is a small bunch of faulty sims? - Anyone else using NextG Prepaid?
may have fixed it. Looking at my history, I noticed I hadn't made an outgoing voice call on the iPhone yet. Made one, and it has stopped the txt thing. Fingers crossed it stays fixed. I'll post again if it works properly...
Mine stopped for a while, and has now restarted, but only on a couple of days.. it doesnt seem to go on indefinitely here, I usually lose a couple of dollars... Mind you I have just restored my iphone recently. I wonder.. are we all on iphone? Are we all on Telstra? Are we all on prepaid?
I was originally on Optus, then I unlocked, now I have a Telstra Pre-Paid not next G. I am on iPhone software 2.1. I haven't made a phone call with the Telstra one yet because it ate all of my credit! I have restored numerous times.
Yes K Phone, I'm the tech looking at your report. You have the same SIM card as I am using but I am using firmware 2.0.1 at the moment and haven't had the issue yet. I upgraded to version 2.1 this morning to see if its firmware dependant.
All, Has it only occured on firmware 2.1? If its occured on other firmwares please let me know. Does restoring to original factory settings resolve the issue? Do you think it is triggered by an actual application on the phone? If so, what do you believe triggers it?
I had the same problem on earlier 2.0.1 firmware aswell. I tried restoring from DFU mode aswell and no deal. Making that first voice call is all that has worked so far. My iphone is as per factory, no additional apps at all.
I haven't syncd with itunes since the fix, not keen to either. If i restored or updated firmware/carrier settings i have a feeling it would start again.
As per our discussion today, if the number can be changed to no charge that will fix the draining of people's credit at least.
There is a thread on Whirlpool refering to this issue too for everyone's info..
Thanks K Phone, As discussed. The sms to 125100474 seems to occur when new sim is placed into iphone and a power reset occurs. There is an iphone applet that sends out the sms's until it fails.
Hi All its not a fault with your iphone, your handset is requesting information for a "visual voice mail" service centre. Your handset will try 5 times to send a sms requestioning the information, a successful response will state that the account is inactive, as this network feature is not yet implemented.
My phone is an LG G500f, brand spanking new as of today I put my sim in and turn it on and its doing the same thing. So this is not just limited to Iphones. I am also a telstra customer, telstra are not bloody helping (ive been on the phone for 3 hours and am still on hold as we speak!!) I have no idea what to do, as we are waiting for the sim to be activated as soon as it is, I dont want ot be charged for this like you guys have. My phone seal was also BROKEN when the phone arrived so it makes me wonder whether that has somehting to do with it?? If someone could help id be so appreciative.
I bought my son a Samsung C5220 for christmas (3G pre-paid) and it is doing the same thing. Within one week almost $20 in credit is gone and the numbers coming up through the online history are 0421408550 and 0418707637. Neither of these numbers are known to myself or my son. Does anyone know why telstra doesn't seem to be doing anything about this, and aren't bothering to offer refunds/credits to people if this is a known problem? If anyone else is experiencing this as a persistent problem it would be great to know, my next port of call for complaint is going to be to the telecommunications ombudsman.
