I've been getting calls for weeks with just music blaring in the background....not Muzak.....then today I heard somesay...Hello...then it went dead....followed by the first sms as above.
WTF....

got one from this number saying i need to call ROBY....seems a bit dodgy

I got "Please call SKY on 1300263712 and quote ref # 349017" with "Private" in the caller ID

I keep getting the same..and my call being placed on hold whilst music playing in the background and received the text message quoting a number. I phoned the number and it went straight to an automated hold system with no indication of who I was calling. No idea who it is.

I found out..its a company called RECOVERIES CORP...they are debt collectors for Telstra and not sure who else.

I have got 2 text messages from this number to quote 2 diff numbers, i know i do not owe any money and am very suss about it

The number belongs to a legit debt collection company.  I got a new phone for christmas and before I'd even given the no. out to anyone I got a msg from them asking me to call.  Stressed me out for a while but it turns out they had they wrong number, if you check their website they say they use the latest in "predictive dialling technology" which may account for the wrong no.  Anyway they were pleasant enough when I rang.

I'm getting continuousely phone calls from the Recovery Corporation 1300263712 in Melbourne asking  to confirm personal information about myself .( I refuse it off course ) I am getting fedup with that intrusion on my personal life . Except my usual bills ( gas ,phone , elect. ....) I do not have have any debts .
Beside , anyone owning money will be contacted formaly on writting with all the explainations.
What is the purpose for that Debt Collector Company  to proceed like this ??
Can someone stop them ? with out solicitors cost .

They obviously have something they want to discuss. It works like this, as per privacy law, they need to confirm 3 Points of Identification before discussing the matter with you'll. Once you do that, they can discuss it with you. SAM, they may have tried contacting you on an older address.....or maybe you just have problem with ur mail. I know how this works as I have worked with D&B before

My advise....call them back and sort it out....atlease that way you wont get default listed. And no u can change ur address and get them to send u mail somewhere else unless u first confirm ur 3 Points of Identification....

Last time I gave out my details over the phone I got a bill that I could not get out of as I apparently agreed to there terms and conditions in the said call ! Be very wary I believe

Sam, how did you go with the recoveries corp, I am also getting these calls, and like you I refuse to give them my private details/information. I am assuming I have a debt more than 2 years old, (not that I can think what it is, if I even have one), I have been living where I am now for about two years and they have my old address. Would like to know how you went as you delt with them last year????

100% a scam. Anyone on here who says otherwise is in on it.

Suddenly got their  calls out of the blue also. Firstly as a private number. When I refused to give out my personal details the lady told me to call back on 1300263712 and quote a number. After checking on google who the hell these people are I'm reluctant to call back.
