Keeps caling on a "private" number, leaves a message "please call the office" on 130303853 and quote "xxx" reference number.
never heard of them, have no reason to vcall them

Since they're a debt collection company they are very coy about their identity.

My wife got a weird call from them.  Since they're debt collectors its best not to ignore the call if you don't want to risk a credit default.

just got a call from 1300303853 they were chasing a friend about an ebay debt, when they rang they said there calling for a reference, and want to speak to my friend, I didnt know they were from a debt collection company until i called the number to see what the company does

These people called me at work , when i called back they claimed to be Australian Receivables Limited, they got my address and home no. and then didnt tell me what call was about just said to ring back once i had checked reference no. stating the reference no. may be wrong- DODGEY AS!

These people like small debts and like wasting their time on cleaning up what the corporations leave behind....... people in debt. They don't mind selling a fridge,TV or passing off a phone..... as long as they get a quick sale and then when 10 % of customers can't pay..... they pass the debt off to these cockroaches.  Why don't they catch real debtors......(likes of Christopher Skase or something) and tell the corporations to stop thinking about the bottom line all the time, by luring everyone they can to get a sale. 36 months interest free..... buy now pay later......

son got a letter from them we rang them they would tell us nothing. Then called ebay they said there was no debt. Rang the company back they wanted name date of birth and ebay account name haung up very strange.

I have been continually harrassed by these people re a so called ebay debt.
I contacted ebay and they told me they do not use third party debt collectors.
ARL could not even spell my surname correct.
Its a scam.

I have had 2 call from a blocked number claiming to be arl, the first thing they ask me is what's your last name? Ahh no I cannot do that... I don't know who they are and they call after hours andon Sunday's, I have never owed anyone money...

They called from a private number - the first thing they asked was 'what is your name'? I said if you know my phone number why do you want my name? They gave me their phone number to call them back but still no business name. I tried 5 times to all back and each call got cut off. Totally dodgy.

Yo. I just got a call from them, blocked number. Same again, he knew my name but asked for my DOB and address "for confirmation".

But it DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY, BUDDY!

if you have my phone number and name, then indeed you can tell me why you are calling.

They said i can call back 1300303856 and give a reference number, which i wont bother doing.

Just got a private call number this afternoon. It was 'Sean' from Australian Receivables Limited, claiming some debt had been incurred on 10 May 2011.

He asked me to confirm my name (which I refused) and I kept asking him to specifically say what the call was about or what the debt in question was - but he refused to do so.  I asked for his number, which he gave (1300 303 856).  I googled and saw many concerns about a scam.  I hung up.

I don't use Ebay or paypal and pay by either direct debit or CC for anything I buy, and have no other accounts in my name other than bank accounts.  

I checked my bank records and nothing was incurred on that date.

Just remembered.  Also, when they gave the 1300 number, they also started giving me a reference number (which I did not listen to).  

Why would they give me a reference number if  they refused to give me any details about what they were calling about in the first place and wanted me to confirm my name?  They would only give a reference number to someone who they were satisfied was the person they were supposed to be dealing with.

Don't tell them anything.  Watch your credit report www.mycreditfile.com.au and if any default listings show up report them.  Otherwise please ignore them.  These idiots called me asking for a different name and now they are pushing the same debt on me under my real name.  I told them I would complain if they kept it up.   Seems to have fixed the problem :)

I received an email from them, with a reference number wanting me to call back. I do have an old ebay account which i owe $50 to.. forgot about. ... I wont be calling them. I will however fix up this old ebay account ;p

i got a vm saying for me to call re an urgent message i called them back for them to say that they are no longer handling my case. Im like who are you? whats your comp name, whats your address?
They wanted personal information abt me so they could apparently verify my identity.
I refused to provide and hung up.
Dodgy.
Even the address they gave me was a PO Box!!

Got a voice mail MSG from ARL. Attempted to call but ended up leaving a msg. No call back. 2dayslater a letter arrives on dodgy letterhead, b&w, from law firm Forbes Dowling in Melb. Guess which 1300 number they insist I call within 48 hours or they will commence legal action?  They act for ARL as agent and the $30.66 was supposedly owed to eBay International AG.

I received a text message from ARL supposidly called the 1300303853 called they asked me for name not the quoted ID No. on the text so i refused to give any info and told them I would contact ombusman if they kept harassing me they got very narkie and hung up New years eve i get a phone call from them and the same thing i told them i would get bac to them when i returned to my home as i was on holidays and sort it then .. when i got home there was a letter from them and to date I have not replied when i have then money I will call aE-bay and sort the problem out.  Not impressed my daughter also has had 3 companies recently after for money and added extra on to account all dodgy companies so they wont be getting any money from her either...
