I'm very confused when I got the call from 1300 651 194..

Got a call too, I advertised my car for sale. They called saying they were from a dealer and wanted to make a very poor offer on the car.

I got a call from these people too, and quickly google'd them because I'm worried about scams and the guy on the other end of the phone was SO rude to me! I live along way from smithfield and they wanted me to drive my car out there without giving me a ball park figure of what the offer is. I also asked them if they could drive to me, considering I'm the one selling the car, and he said 'sorry the whole thing is automated in our computer system'. How is that relevant to him not being able to come to see my car where I live? I kept asking questions, and he seemed to get more and more angry with me because I wasn't just saying 'yes okay, i'll drive my car out to some unknown location for some unknown offer for a guy who keeps yelling at me'. I ended up hanging up on him.

I wouldn't ever deal with these people - them seem as though they're only out for themselves and will rip you off if they can.

I too also got contacted by them selling my car and was treated exactly the same as Kacey. I simply told them that if they want to see my car then they would have to come and see it at MY designated location. They also told me that they wanted the car for about 30mins-1hr for inspection and couldnt even give me a ballpark figure. I told them what I was willing to accept and was told thats up to us to decide after inspection because the money is automatically transferred to your account. Pfttt...Yeh right!!! They also speak very limited english. These guys have scam written all over them!! My advice...STAY CLEAR!!

I thought I would leave a quick comment because I got a call from this number too. They saw our car listed and called to ask me to come in for a valuation as they were prepared to buy the car. They are based at smithfield and aligned with the car auctions, they buy your car than auction it. When I called back it was an elderly person with perfect english that gave me an estimate over the phone... He didn't want to waste either of our time for me to come in if I didn't think the estimate was far. I didn't have a positive experience but it was neither negative so just adding my thgouhts for others. It seems a legit business, will give you a sale but be prepared that it will be low

i got a call from them too and have very similar experience with Kacey and mitymowse. Luckily I googled this phone number and had a look other people's comments, i will simply stay clear with them.

its a car auctions yard so basically they offer you what the car would be for a trade-in better off just trade it when you buy your new car. i work in the industry and these guys are the sharks of the business don't take your car to them your better off just going to your local dealer and asking them to buy your car.

I got a call from this number this morning and they want me to drive my car into their place at smithfield but I thought its sounds a bit dodgy to me, I am the seller and they want me to bring the car to them.
But after I read all your comments I won't have a second thought not to bring the car to them.

Yes I received a call from these guys today saying they were interested in buying my car because they go to the ads on carsales and other car sale sites looking for private sellers to hoodwink. . I did not take the call and they left this 1300 number to call back on with a contact name but no company name.  I figured it was just another car dealer trying to buy my car at a dirt cheap wholesale price.  So I   googled  the phone number to identify them and was not surprised when I saw who they were - CarNet Auctions in Smithfield.  This is their web site.............http://www.carauctionssydney.com.au/default.aspx

These guys are parasites who will try to get you to bring your car to them  and, once there, will try high pressure tactics to get you to sell them your car  on the spot assuming they want it. They are preying on the naive and desperate.  DO NOT deal with them and if they call you tell them to go jump.  I guarantee you they will offer you a terrible price and then try all manner of high pressure tactics to get you to sell them your car at a very low wholesale price.

If these guys call me a second time they will get the rudest response they have ever encountered.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME DEALING  WITH THEM.  THEY WILL COST YOU MONEY.

I received the same call. Was considering going in today but thought I'd check out google to see if anything good or bad was said about them. Luckily I saw all these comments and on other sites and none were positive. I'm not desperate to be ripped off. Thanks everyone, you guys rock and were very helpful

I too got a call from these people yesterday after placing an ad on Gumtree & Carsguide (they left me a voicemail so I didn't actually speak to anyone), not knowing anything about the company I googled them and found this forum and after reading everyone's comments there's no way I am calling them back - like others said I'm not desperate to be ripped off - im
not unrealistic about how much il get for my car but im not going to waste my time if i can just go to a dealer or something and get a better trade in price! and I'm lucky enough to not be in a great rush or desperate for cash to sell my car so will just be patient and wait to see what happens. I got a call this morning from these people, it was a lady saying she wanted to buy my car and for me to come to Smithfield for the men to look at it, when if the men would offer me an extremely low price she just said oh I don't know how much they will offer you, so I said why would I waste my time and petrol coming to you. She gave me the number to call them but instead I googled it and found ALL the negitive feedback. I won't be calling them or going to see them.

I am also one of the thousands who received a call from them saying they would like to buy my car and bring it down "to inspect". I immediately asked what's the deal here, is my car going to be bought for the price advertised on car sales or much less and she said she can't tell unless I bring it in. She couldnt even give me a ballpark fig so I was very suspicious and uneasy. Theres no way I am selling my car to them, it is already really low than what it should be!

I got a call from a private number for the car to be bought in to 211-221 Cumberland Hwy Smithfield.  Auto Buying Division.

Got here, googled the place it doesn't exist but this forum certainly has a lot to say, so thanks guys.

I got a call from a private number this morning. The lady on the line was named Robyn. She asked me about the car, and for me to bring it in for an inspection. I didnt bother asking her what she would give me as a ball park, as I have been the target of 5 scams this week! Luckily I have not been caught out by one. I just called them back and spoke with a man, who was very quick to answer the phone but with an abrupt "Hello" I thought, isnt this a business? Wheres their manners? lol So I spoke to him about the car, he asked what I was after, I told him, he said the best they could do would be a little over half of what I am asking. He said he would just tell me straight up, which I much prefer, I than said thanks but no thanks, better than wasting both of our times.

So I didnt find it to be a scam, just an auction place that does attempt to buy good cars cheaply to make a quite considerable profit. However on the up side what he was offering me was almost twice as much as the dealership I recently bought my new car through, as a trade in.

Their customer service is poor, but they are legit. I think they thrive on those who are struggling and need a quick buck.

i had a called from them regarding my car she was saying me to bring the car for insepction and we will pay good money i was guuna go but good to see these comment i would never go and deal with this kind of corrupt people...

Well, same with me no later than this afternoon. It sounded quite dodgy and I live an hour away but I am silly enough to have made an appointment for Saturday...thanks for all your comments, I'll be sleeping in instead of driving all that way for a scam!!!

Similar Story as everyone else in this forum, I asked the lady to reply to my add on carsales to send their contact details and got the following SMS with only Auto Buying as contact#

"For an offer to buy, could you bring to Auto Buying Division, 211-221 Cumberland Hwy., Smithfield
Ph: 1 300 651 194"

I am glad I googled about them, thank you guys
