needed to talk to me about an important business matter and provided me with a reference number to call them back on. When i called back i was left waiting for quite some time and then when i got through i was asked for my date of birth i wouldnt give it to them and i ended up just hanging up on them

I would like these phone calls to stop as I am not the person they want to talk to, I have asked them to stop calling me but last night around 9.00pm another call came from them, I am sick of it

We screen calls so the message on our answering machine was "Please call Sam on 1 800 190 941 (repeated the number) and quote reference number 83*** (repeated the number).  The call was at 8.25pm.  I have not returned the call nor do I have any intention of doing so.

Me too ... exactly the same.  My number is on the do not call register too.

I just tried to call the number and after a few rings it was redirected (to an international call center I presume) and continued to ring and then ultimately failed.

If you guys want to experiment safely, dial 1831 before the number to block your phone number from appearing on their call forward.

Received a call on 21.08.08 at 8:45pm. Operator said she was from Trans Pacific.

The lady was really hard to understand, impatient and rude. She wanted details for my sister in-law which I did not give her and gave me a reference number. I don't intend on handing the message on as I don't see how it can be that important

They have been calling my home number looking for my partner for about 4 months now. Everytime I ask what it is about they say it is a private matter & they give me that number & a reference number also?? Last time I said my partner would be away for 2 months, so he said he would send the details in an email.. I still havent recieved the email. I also googled transpacific & they are a manufacturing company so it doesn't really add up. I would like to know if it ever stops??

Received another call from this number. I called the 1800 number and was answered by Beyond Global.. They have rung on numerous occasions asking for my sister by her maiden name(not know by this name for 30 years or more)or maybe my mother who had the same name passed away in 1983. All of the callers had Indian accent. I have called them back asking them not to ring me again. Will wait and see. I am on the no call register so why do they ring me???

If they ring, please join in the fun and offer them the opportunity to buy your goat.  Be very firm about the importance of buying the goat, and it's fine quality meat.  Tell them you're selling it to raise money to pay off some old debts!

recieved a call from this rude, arrgonant indian man today, could not speak english real well, looking for my brother, would not take no for an answer, and when i questioned him about the company name, what it was regarding and for his name, he changed his name 3 times, and they expected me to give out my brothers details, ie mobile number, date of birth, address. I dont think so! they got very rude when i said no. he kept saying it was a "personal buisness matter regarding his finances"

identified themselves as beyond global. an important private business financial matter. all indian - sounded very suspicious. would not transfer me to the person who originally called. wanted my date of birth etc to "verify me".

suggest getting a very loud whistle and blowing it down the line!

Byondglobal is a debt collector based in India but the Managing Director is a person by the name of George Wilson who lives in Perth. The company used to be named Repcol but it was in deep trouble with the pennies last year. (isn`t that a good sign for a debt collection company)Their share price at the moment is a massive $0.01c
Anyone who can get the home phone number of George Wilson will be a national hero.
If it is available please post it on this site so we can all ring him whenever we feel the urge. Midnight is a good time.

The people who call you fron Byondglobal always give false names such as JACK SMITH.and they work for about 10k rupes / year. Because you cannot verify who they actually are you cannot commence legal action against them. They do not comply with any Australian laws regarding debt collection.

Apparrently Repcol sold Byond Global earlier this year.

I've received several calls from Byond Global too, for "urgent business".  They kept asking for my DOB, which I refused to give.  Wouldn't tell me what the business was or let me speak to a manager.  They asked if I was Jxxx A Wxxxx - I said yes but the middle initial is wrong.  I asked if they knew what my DOB was, they tried 1965 - wrong.  Hung up - they called again seconds later.  Said they would keep calling until I gave them my DOB.

Looks like they are a genuine Debt Collection Agency with a list of absconded debtors, which they are trying to locate by calling all the Jxxx Wxxx in the phone book until they find one that gives them a matching DOB.  It's a big job (I have a very common name) so that's why it's outsource to India.  Of course, if they get it right and call the debtor, he would be evasive so their persistence, rudeness and secrecy is sort of understandable.  Trouble is that hundreds of innocent people are presumed guilty and have to reveal sensitive data to prove their innocence.

Their strategy depends on the debtor revealing his true DOB to match their records, but it the debtor can guess that they are a Debt Collection Agency he will give a fake one.  So they are very defensive against questions about who they are.

You can probably make them go away by giving them a fake DOB too, but you would get into more trouble if you picked the debtor's.  Or you could tell them that your day of month is divisible by 2 or 3 or a prime number.  If that matches, tell them an another number that divides it, or do the same for the month number.  Eventually there would be a negative match without actually giving away your DOB, and they will bother somebody else with your name instead.

Or you could tell them just to send the cops around to your address and sort it out with them ...

If you just tell them you know they are Debt Collectors (because you Googled them), their whole secrecy strategy goes out the window and they no longer have any reason to hide info.  Then you can ask who the creditors are and complain to them about their collector's dodgy practices.

They are based in Bangalore India, but they have a Registered Office in Brisbane.  Call them up and complain.  Ask them for their personal name, address, phone number and DOB.  If they hang up, just call again.  It's a 1300 number so it only costs you 18 to 22 cents from anywhere in Aus.

Tried calling that 1300 number, and got a message that the call could not be connected and to check the number.
