Had a call from David from IMS in South Melbourne. He wanted me to participate in some sort of survey. Just wanted this David to know that he a very poor excuse for a marketing person. I have complained and I do hope he gets similar phone calls as I do.

Had a menacing call from Andrea of IMS.  Would not confirm her phone number so I could call her back and lodge official complaint to Telecommunications Ombudsman as am a listed
"Do Not Call" number.  This is NOT the first time it has been breached by a company with a (at worst) a similar sounding name.  I have had enough!

Received a call from IMS located in South Melbourne, again a survey to see if you are eligable to save 50% off your tax, haha.  So many companies now day think they are better than accountants, or have a previously unpublicised government loophole.  Well they make money some how.  On the "do not call" register, another phoney scam, their website is juvinile. http://www.imsfunds.com.au/defaultims.asp?menu_id=300 avoid at all costs.

I also had a very annoying call - two in fact. There was no introduction to what they were doing and for what purpose. The scary thing is they knew my name and exactly where I lived. Initially they say it is just a random question gathering information about the working population and it will be only one question taking less than a minute. As soon as they then started asking financial questions - I said I failed to see how that was anybody else's business and told her to strike me off her call list and not to record any information - so then she still continued to confirm my name and address - which I had not given her. A second call then came to confirm I'd done the survey. I will certainly be reporting this - as I am also registered on the 'donotcall' list. Interestingly enough when I asked for her company website and phone number - she said they do not have a website and their details were as follow: IMS - 14 Hawthorn rd, south melbourne. When I look up IMS on the internet it give a city address. Sounds like a huge phone scam to me.

We also had the call twice. A chick caught me off guard - I started to answer her questions then refused once she started asking financial questions. She was pretty pushy. Funnily enough a guy then called back to speak to my husband - obviously to try and get the financial info I wouldn't give. Said they were based at 31 Saint Albert street, St Albans in South Melbourne. He hung up on my husband when hubby was pushing him for info. Dodgy as hell...

Have similar situation. the second caller hung up ASAP once I start to ask them URL and details of their company.

I got a call from a lady who was very pushy, and asked me the same questions over and over again despite me telling her that I was not willing to answer any financial questions. When I asked her how she had all of my information (name, address, the fact that I was married, etc.) she hung up on me.

I had a call, foreign woman said she was calling from IMS in South Melbourne.  As am on the Do Not Call register, I asked her where she got my number, at which point she immediately hung up.  Have made a complaint on the ACMA Do Not Call website.

19/11/11.  Had a call from IMS South Melbourne this morning asking to do a 30 sec survey about working families.  I started to answer their questions, but when I refused to tell them if I owned my house or had a mortgage, the Indian sounding lady proceeded to read off their policy??? I then still refused to answer this question, saying it was none of her business.  She then asked "How long have you owned your home?'" I said that I hadn't even answered if I owned or not. DODGY.  Told her to say goodbye and I said goodbye and hung up.  Later in the day some other Indian sounding lady (who was very pushy also) rang to get the answer to the question that I had refused to answer, she wanted my partner,  probably to get the answer.  I told her to contact the CENSUS People as they had the answers to all these questions.  When I asked for her personal details, she hung up on me.

6 Feb 2011. I had the same experience with two separate IMS calls (yes I am on the 'do not call' register. This is supposed to stand for Income Management Services. They are very talkative and pushy and nothing quite adds up in their 'marketing' speel. I have checked for details on various websites and they are linked to a plethora of companies all located in South Melbourne but with no details or business registration. Presumably they are all dodgy companies. If you try and ring any of the numbers that are listed they are either disconnected or lead to a business called IMS located in the city which is a genuine investment company called Investment Management Services. They are sick of the calls and are trying to launch an investigation as it is wasting their time and resources. Whatever happens if IMS ring you do not give them any details and perhaps tell them where to go in the meantime!

Carlton from IMS just called me.  Sounded Indian, probably not situated in Melbourne - perhaps he thought he was IN Carlton... Asked me a whole range of questions, including how much we earn, where we work, do we own our own home... I lied about most of it to get him off the phone.  But he knew where we lived and questioned my answers (price of house) and when I said I didn't know how much we'd paid off the mortgage - "surely 'the wife' knows these things".  Have just added a complaint to Do Not Call register.

Yep, had the same call as previously described  here.. my phone  however, came up with  "overseas" on the display. Was told they were on Albert road in south Melbourne.  Told her I was on the do not call register,and this company did not have a business relationship with me, therefore should not be calling me.Got hung up on as soon as I said I am not answering her questions.

2 phone calls today , 29/8/2012, a woman with a foreign accent introducing herself  as from IMS and telling me they were doing a survey or categorizing working people, then when I asked too many questions before obliging her questions with answers, she decided to hang up on me! It is great that people report these scams and we just need to look at how recent they are... Thanks for everyone who shared their comments here, helped to clear it for me!

IMS in South Melbourne has nothing to do with IMS Funds.
There is absolutley not connection whatsoever.

I had the same phone call from David of IMS in south melbourne. He did not tell me where he was from. I had to ask. Said he was doing a survey. International call. I work in market research and do surveys all day. He was not doing a survey. A market research company must identify themself fully, including the company name. I'm on the do not call register and will be reporting Mr David and his bogus company

just had them on teh phone, convinced Kevin to get his Team Leader for me but no surprise she hung up when asked a few direct questions, call was at 8.24pm so past the time limit and of course we are also on the Do Not call Register...

Just had a call from these folk. A woman with an Indian accent was quickly explaining it was a survey of all the 'working people' they do every five years and when I asked what it was for she said it was following the global recession they always do a survey on working people. She said she was calling from IMS. The first question was whether I worked full time or part time, then I lied about the industry I work for then she asked me how much my home was worth, how long I have owned it and how much my mortgage was! I hung up. She asked me about my partner, who does not exist. I made a couple of blatant lies up and hung up.
