Started getting messages from out of the blue from this number looked it up on the net and they charge you six dollars a week and ten dollars a call no idea where they got my number from but will contact them and give them a blast to contact them call 1300366702 or write to mobile live po box 5635 west end qld 4101

Just received an unsolicited SMS from them saying I've won a camera on I phone I use for receiving calls only.  Same sort of scam company, not sure how they got my mobile number either.

Very annoyed about this  "Free Ringtones and games from mobile live"  They had better not be charging me.

Yes, I got an unsolicited SMS on 13/6/2008 from 19711200 offering "Free Ringtones and games from mobile live".  What complete w*nkers!

On 14th June I got an unsolicited SMS from 19711200 (no name):
"U have won free ringtones and games from Mobile Live! Reply Free 2 get your prize Help 1300366702 2optout stop after one week 10aud"

How the hell did they get my number???

not the first time i have had to deal with this crap.  Still dont know how they get your number.  was advised last time to reply 'stop' and i sent an email to 'xploratone' too.  they wrote back with some jargon about me entering a competition - didnt.  I cant believe that scams like this are able to operate - would love to see the faces of these companies and have them explain and justify their money making, time wasting exercises.  Have just tried to reply 'stop' and response ' you are already subscribed'  WHAT THE?????????? so they have me trapped???????? will call the number given above and see if i have any luck ie1300366702.  can someone with some money and time - please deal with these SOB's once and for all.

got a message from these w*nkers. the a-holes should be shut down. this is f-in wrong. scamming money from people. btw who gives these people a license to have a number that is able to do this? i mean it can be traced.... right. why are they allowed to do it? is telstra responsible? who is? i would call it an unsolicitated call. i want to know who is texting me without my permission. i want these a-holes to pay and i will trace the f-ckers down soon.

I received exactly the same message as Nathum, at 2008-06-25 18:43 AEST, and have reported it to ACMA as well.

The perpetrator appears to be one:

 Simon Owen (AKA Alexey Leonov)

who apart from organising the operation in question:

UPDATE: The Australian Communications and Media Authority ACMA Anti-spam guys responded this morning by email and are following it up.

So if you get any sms spam such as this don't ignore it. Tell your friends about the link and do something about it. The more complaints they get about these creeps the better.

Has anyone had any luck with calling the 1300 number? I just put in a complaint to ACMA.

I hate, hate, hate spam!

yes, i rang the 1300366702 number, but  they were 'not there to take my call' so i left a message.  they have 48hours to return my call or a formal complaint is filed through my own service provider and the Teleco Industries Ombudsman will be called by me.  the number is 1800 062 058 (if you cant get credit back for the messages).  The responsible company is called 'Opera Telecom'.  I have emailed that company and asked for an explanation and explicit info regarding where they got my number - and credit back.  YOU MUST REPLY STOP to stop these messages - and within seven days of the initial message - OR ELSE YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY SUBSCRIBED!!! (I was out of the country and didnt reply stop till i recieved the first charged message - replied stop then but was sent a message saying ' you are already subscribed' - thereby I received two more charged messages - at the same time - exactly! what a con job! now I have spent 15hours in total dealing with this.

Received these messages as well, when my bill came in I was charged for sending the STOP messages
