What the #@*& is this? I am getting SMS'd daily for some stupid quizzes that I have never subscribed to and even if I don't even open them I am being $2 for each one! Surely this is illegal! My phone company can't block it and I have spent $60 on credit in 10 days, usually only spend $20 a month! Anyone know who I can complain to?

they have a call centre you can call 02 8022 0777 (answered by a company owned by 5th Finger) but they arent too helpful Best bet is to go to the TIO -telecommunication Industry Ombudsman http://www.tio.com.au/

If enough people complain they may do something

I had the same problem- I called that number and all i had to do was enter my mobile number and this has taken me off the list.  I will email back in a few days time to let you know if this has taken effect.

Leaves me SMS messages that want me to play Head2Head Trivia, for another entry in the chance to win $100k Draw! Q1 whodied 3 days before Groucho Marx? etc

Please take me off this list ASAP

I have just been advised to text the word STOP to the message when it comes through.  I have just done this and I was just sent back a free text saying I have been un-subscribed (YAY), I hope this helps.

This is a mobile phone scam. I receive SMS from 19733799 which costs me $100+ now.

How do I go about disputing this costs to my mobile phone company?

I have found the way to unsubscribe from getting SMS's from this number. Dial 0280220777 that puts you through the Head2Head main office. They ask for your phone number and then unsubscribe that number. If you are on pre paid you are advised to wait 5 days before buying more credits. After that you get no more text messages.

I have been conned also. They got all my credit....
here's what it says in the T&C:

To unsubscribe from the service, The Subscriber must comply with the expiration conditions and SMS the message ‘STOP’ to the service number identified in Schedule A. This will cancel The Subscription to The Service within 24 hours.

STOP messaging: 0428400278

I texted STOP to the above number and got a sms back to say I had been unsubscribed. BASTARDS..........Now I will contact the ombudsman.
