They're calling my house looking for my ex-husband (whom I haven't spoken to in 8 yrs), and has never lived at this address OR phone number.

Calling my cell phone asking for a person who has not had that phone number for at least 5 years!

They have called me several times looking for a friend of mine. I don't know what they want and they will not tell me unless I tell them where my friend is. I have asked them to take my number off of their calling list, but they will not. They are extremely rude.

If you owe any back phone bills, AT&T uses Western Asset mgmt to collect debts. it doesn't have to be an old debt either. it can be as recent as 3-4 months old.

West Asset Management keeps calling client.  They are also known as Omega Services.  They say they are calling regarding the AT&T bill.  They were listed in the bankruptcy matrix  Their number is 201-210-6114.
