- nj residentIn my case it was the police officers foundation fund drive
- Joe Fisher| 1 replyClaimed to be taking donations for the police officers foundation to buy bullet proof vests for officers. However I was told my payment was not tax deductible and immediately transferred to someone who wanted payment information. When I told him I'd like more information sent to me, he thanked me and hung up.
I hope it's not, but it sounds like a scam.
-Joe- Call type: Non-profit organization
- A Real Police OfficerCaller stated that donations were used for bullet proof vests and survivor benefits. She could not name any actual person or department that actually received a vest or benefit from the "New Jersey Police Officers Foundation." She also could not name any actual police officer involved in this "organization".
- Caller: New Jersey Police Officers Foundation.
- NJ ResidentDid not leave message.
- NJ residentJust got a call from this number at 8:40 pm. First off, he asked for me by my first name (highly unusual--most direct marketer's ask "May I speak with Mr. or Mrs. Jones") he then identified himself as a police officer. I asked why he was calling after 8:00pm (direct marketing laws prohibit calls after 8:00pm.) He said police officers could call until 9:00pm. He tried to go on but I stopped him and told him we already contributed and cut the call off. I do not think he was for real as he would/could not identify what police department/PBA he was soliciting for. As a direct marketing professional--be wary of this one--something is not right.
- NJite...This number called me 3 times yesterday....DID NOT leave a message
- Irritated| 1 replyIf these people are the real deal, they could at least leave a message. If I am interested, I will call them back instead of them calling all the time. I am soooooo tired of getting phone calls, of which most are scams, and I am suppose to be on the NO CALL LIST. So much for that wonderful list.
- Caller: I have no idea
- Tired of scammersGot a call this evening from this phone number. They did not leave a message. But looking at prior reports of others on here for this number, it makes me very suspicious. From what I have been told and researched, NO police departments call people's homes soliciting money. No police department does that in any state. Very suspicious.
- Caller: Leonia, NJ
- Enough Already!First it was calls from the "Fraternal Order of Policemen", another scam. Now I just got the call from this number. The phone ID said "International". "International" what???? If I donate anything now, I go directly to my local Police Dept. or a reputable charity that I have donated to in the past.
- Caller: International
- John WNo message from Leonia NJ on my caller ID
- ScamI received a call from this number this morning. The man claimed to be a police officer and was asking for funds for a police association. Frankly he sounded like a moron and I doubt that he was anything more than a wanna be scam artist.
- SueJust got a call from this ## - he said his name was Scott Sullivan and he was calling from the police fund drive - hung upn on him. THIS IS A SCAM. Police officers will NEVER call your house and ask for money.

- Unbelievably irritated| 1 replyI just received a call from this number and some creepy music played then the caller disconnected. I have been receiving a lot of calls from this number but when I try and call it back, the message says that the number is no longer in service. How is that possible? It had to be in service when they called me 1 second ago...Has to be a scam.
- Caller: No Idea
- UGHCalled in the morning, didn't leave a message... 'tis the time of year for more scam marketing
- Caller: New Jersey
- shut scammers down| 1 reply201-228-1022 Scammer calls repeatedly uses various names asking for donation for police PBA or others. Hang up or do not take his calls. REPORT THIS LUNATIC and stop him from making calls and scamming!
- Cat| 1 replyThis number has been relentlessly calling my home and not leaving messages. Someone named Rob (who sounded like a moron) just called and was trying to solicit donations for bullet proof vests for police officers. Wanted me to pick what sticker shield I wanted along with picking a denomination of donation to pledge, and my address to send it to. I informed him that my husband is in Federal law enforcment and I would run this by him when he gets home and call him back. He gave me an "800" number to call him back at. 1-800-921-2022 - Got a woman who said they do fundraising for a number of clients, NJ Police Officers Foundation was indeed one of them, but I don't think this guy is connected with this legit organization. My SCAM antennas were up and alert on this one ...BEWARE!!!!!!!
- Caller: NJ Police Officers Foundation
- Rick G replies to Joe FisherI believe this is a scam. Check with your local precinct. If it was for real, they would be contacting you
- Rick G replies to CatHey Cat
I called the 800 number. It is just an answering service for something called 'Community Support' in Milwaukee Wisconsin
This is definitely a scam.
