unwanted called from unknown person/company

I have been inundated with calls from several numbers:  303-974-1805, 201-257-4829, 410-774-8401, 617-245-9609, 202-747-7385, 866-581-2505, and sometimes no number is identified.  It just started right after Christmas.  I normally don't answer numbers I don't recognize, but I started picking them up today.  They ask for "Andrew" and I've told them twice that they have the wrong number.  Hopefully, the calls will stop.  I've Googled all of these numbers, and other people have tried calling them back and all the numbers seem to be related to the Career Institute or online classes.

202-747-7385, 303-974-1805, 410-744-8701, 201-257-4829. Just started yesterday and have already gotten 4 calls with these numbers appearing in caller ID yet each time I answered the phone, it was the same guy. He asked for my wife and didn't want to leave a message but he'd call back. He finally told me his name was Nathaniel and he was with Career Institutes. Very annoying frequency.

Got a call from this number (201-257-4829), the caller ID also showed CI. I called the number back...Career Institute. I pressed 1 to speak with an "Education Specialist". Got a human on the other end and told her to get us off their call list. She claims that she did but it will take a few days for us to come out of the system...we'll see.

Started calling 3 or more times per day. They are a leads generation/verification service. They get leads from internet ads that you would sign up to show interest in school/college. However, the "interest", like so many other adverts is very loose so that you will get calls even if don't remember specifically responding to a college advert. They first couple of days the calls are literally dialed by hand from more than one location so that more than one number shows on callerid. If after about 3 days, the hand dialing in unsuccessful, your number is transferred to the automated call center where their robodialer calls you daily. Basically, they just verify that you are indeed interested, then sell the sales lead on to more companies who then call you more. To get off their call list, call back any one of their numbers, and press option one to speak with someone. Just request to be taken off their call list, and they will do so.

The numbers who are calling are: 201-257-4829, 439-390-1400, 439-390-1500. Trust me they are the same company. These people are really PUSING THE ENVELOPE TODAY.

I am from Massachusetts and this EFFIN place has been calling me and switching phone numbers to try to fool me but every time a new number calls from Out-of-State I check it with one of these websites.

They called at 7:01 p.m. on Friday 2/20/2009.

I had to ask myself what has changed that I am getting these calls for the past two days. I am looking for a Job and some IDIOT probably posted a Job posting on Craigslist when it was not a Job they were offering at all. They are probably cultivating a list of leads that they believe would be great candidates for there services or products.

These people have called my house twice today. Name comes up as C.I. The first time they called they use this number 401-774-8401, then at this number 201-257-4829. They did not leave a message at all.

I called these people and found out that they call you because someone filled signed up for information about on line schooling. they did this under my moms name.

They hang up when I ask them to take me off of their list.

calls come in onmy cell phone. They don't leave a message & then it cost you big bucks when you call them back. The other call only an hour ago was 410-774-8401

I received a call from a maryland phone, which was 401-774-8401, and I blocked the number.  About an hour later I received a call from 201-257-4829, the caller ID showed the caller as call center.  I went online and looked the number up, and came across this website.  It seems that since the first number was blocked they used another number.

If tracfone allows these people to continue this abuse with a phone that i buy minutes for , im going to drop them and the phone . makes me sick ! 201 2574829 July 8,2009 time of call i did not answer and will not if its not in my list.

I have gotten a call once yesterday and once today from this number. They ask for my sister whom does not live with me and he never leaves a message just says he will call back. She has only given my number once for an emergency number when she was having surgery 3 months ago!

called and will not leave a message even though i am on the do not call list i still get telemarket calls

I've gotten calls from 410-774-8410 and 201-257-4829.  Called the 410 back, it rings once, an automated women answers and says, "Thank You, Goodbye."  So I called it back from a different number, got the option to speak with someone and told her to remove me from the list. We'll see, it's very annoying.  My girlfriend has the same area code, so I started thinking maybe it was a friend or family of hers.  Not the case.

They are calling my cell phone....4 times a day....I put my phone on a do not call list...it's very annoying

I am getting all kinds of calls from 202-870-5013, 201-257-4829, 410-774-8401, and unknown.

No messages are left and I refuse to answer the calls.  Whoever you are "STOP CALLING ME" or I will report you to the Attorney General's office in your area as well as your carrier companies.

I started to get called from the 201-257-4829 & 410-744-8701 on my cell phone and it was driving me absolutely nuts. I went onto the National Do Not Call Registry and did it again. I can't remember how long it has been. I also called the numbers and pressed option 1 to speak to someone. I then asked that person to remove my number from there list. They had no problem doing it. I asked them how the got my info and they proceeded to tell me it was from a online college course form that I filled out. TOTALLY BOGUS! I don't do that kind of stuff. I stay off the internet as much as I can. Plus if I wanted to go to school it would not be on the internet.

spend a few dollars get block calls funtion as soon as they hang up you hit*78 and block last number call its only like 5 dollars a month  they can only bother me once they get  pawn well worth it  becase i notice they will call time and time again at least u can limit it to one time per jetk call take care rob

Continually receive the calls from the 201 and 401 area codes. These [***] are circumventing DNC rules by saying that they are responding to your interest cards that you filled out. What "BS" as the other posters have said!! Now these "telemarketing terrorists" have "corrupted" the "Private Name/Private Number feature of our telephone companies. I have answered my phone thinking it was a relative when it was some clown "hiding" behind "Private Name/Private Number"!! What are we to do? You can't "threaten" them with DNC complaints since NO NUMBER shows up in your Caller I.D.! Now, when a "Private Name/Private Number" comes in, I let the caller speak before I answer it!!
