- dizzy replies to oreoIt is a collection agency. I called it back. Could not catch the full name of the company but it does say financial. They also call from 877-857-8690. They will not leave a voicemail in case it's the wrong number or someone else hears the message besides the intended person. Doing so could lead to a privacy lawsuit. You can ask for their address and send a certified letter asking not to be contacted. You can also ask them over the phone but they can later deny having the conversation since it doesn't say all calls are recorded.
- MjayGot a call - no message - annoying
- Caller: unknown
- doogiedid not answer when call came in. Caller did not leave any message. caller id indicated "Englewood, NJ.
- Ryan| 2 repliesIt is a collection agency who is calling for "their client" who happens to be another agency. I started paying on a bill with this other agency until I started getting calls from multiple agencies and feeling like I was being scammed. At that point, they refused to mail me a letter regarding the account and told me to "be a man and take out my checkbook".
My original debt was with HSBC and when I called HSBC they have no record of selling my account to either agency.- Call type: Debt collector
- mama 2Called my phone at 9pm. For one that is too late to be calling! Didn't answer.... So I called back and they answered by saying financial. They asked for somebody I don't even know and said they called on the 1st and somebody answered saying I'm the girlfriend of the person they are trying to reach. I have no idea what they are talking about! They said we will keep trying till we reach so and so and hung up. Don't know why they wanna waste their time when they have the wrong number! Definitely turning them in!!
- NancyI do not know who these people are but they call my home phone and my cel phone at the same time whenever they call. I am not even sure what the point of that is...it is just annoying. I do not answer because there is never anything on the caller id. They also seem to call from several different numbers and NEVER leave any kind of message. They obviously do not really want to talk to me if they will not leave a message to call them back.

- Rob replies to RyanCollection companies must provide "Proof of Debt" if they have no proof of the debt and that they have a right to collect on the debt, this might constitute "FRAUD." Yes, debt collectors can be involved with fraud by acting as a collection agencies or by acting as tough you owe them a debt when you legally do not. You might owe the debt to come other collection agency. Make sure to have them send you documents known as "Proof of Debt." You can send your request by certified mail. They might respond by saying that they made a mistake but in reality, they were about to run away with your money and you might have owed them nothing. Use caution when debt collectors call because they call and send mail by the thousands in many cases and who knows where they obtain your information from. In some cases, criminal organizations might buy debt information and illegally collect on it. So use extreme caustion and always request "Proof of Debt."
