Got a call from this number. No message from the caller

Received a call on 6/28/2010 at 9:48am - dead air. Caller ID = Union City NJ 201-520-9343
Research from other consumer complaints suggests that this call originates from some kind of education lender and that when a live person does call they have a strong accent, suggesting they are not calling from this country.

7/2/2010 9:55am Caller asked for Penny and identified himself as Michael from American Diabetic Assistance in Miami, FL. He claims that his company provides solutions to diabetic supplies and asked if would participate in a brief survey. He offered that IF at the end of the survey I qualified, he would send me a free meter. I asked for a number to call him back and he stated that he was not allowed to provide a call back number, but would be happy to call me back and asked when would be a better time. I tried to get more information from Michael and when I felt I had exhausted his willingness to provide information, we disconnected. Caller ID = MCI Intrnatl  201-520-9343

If the caller is legitimate, I looked up American Diabetic Assistance: http://americandiabeticassistance.com/contact-us/ . Their main number is 888-993-7336 and they are located 1000 NW 65th Str, Suite 200, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.

This is the third call I have received from this number and today I filed a second FCC complaint against this caller. You can easily file a complaint at http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm . Caller ID = MCI Intrnatl  201-520-9343 - Alex called and identified himself as being from American Diabetic Assistance. He asked if I was Penny C. He said if I answered some questions I may qualify for a talking glucose meter. Some questions he asked included: do I have diabetes, if I had the Red, White & Blue Medicare Card, if I spent $5 or more per month on out of pocket on diabetic supplies. I asked him for a phone number where I could call them back and he gave me the bogus 201-520-9343 number. I explained that that number did not accept incoming calls and asked for a working number; he refused to supply one. He continued to ask me to accept another call from someone else who would call at a later time. I asked for the company website and he could not provide me with a web address. I asked for a supervisor and he indicated that he would be connecting me with Albert Smith.
Another agent came onto the line and identified himself as Albert Smith, supervisor over telemarketing. During our discussion, I asked Albert for a working phone number to contact his ‘company’ – he refused to supply another number. I asked for the mailing address of his company and he replied, “We are located in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “ When pressed for the address, he refused to supply the actual street address. I indicated that without the most basic information about his company, I would not be interested in doing business with them and I asked Albert to remove our contact number from their database and place it on DO NOT CALL. Albert verified that he would remove our number from their database, assured me that this would be done immediately and we disconnected. We will let time determine if we have been removed from their calling list. - Sheree
In the recent past, I have phoned American Diabetic Assistance (found their website) and they disavow any knowledge of this telemarking racket. When I called I was informed that they are in the process of changing their name. I would bet this scammer and the bad publicity/reputation that is sure to follow is the reason for that name change.

Call from MCI International 201 520 9343  9:51 a.m.  August 16, 2010.  I no longer answer these calls.  My gut suggests it may come from a Corporation in Chantilly, VA

They call about twelve times a day. Sometimes it is dead air, other times they ask for someone who is not here. They are calling a business.  I do not have time to take their calls. We are on the do not call list. They will be sorry.

I was called by an Indian guy asking me if I want to buy soap made of natural ingredients! He said his company’s called BT something...

Keep getting calls from this number but always seem to miss them. Everyone is saying it is EDF Debt collecting? Do have an account with them but I'm not in debt with them so they must be trying to sell something!
