I keep getting calls from this number and I'm on the National Do Not Call Registry. Who are they and what do they want?

I get calls a least once a day from this number and they never leave a message

My caller ID says that this call is from WEEHAWKEN, NJ.   I don't know anyone there and have been getting one or two calls per week from this number....

The person asks for Carl.  Then will not stay on the line for me to answer.  This is very wrong.  I am on the National Do Not Call List!

Have been on the National Do Not Call List for years.  Continue to get calls from this number  -- 201-537-5943.  If our government cannot do any better than what they have demonstrated on precluding unsolicited calls -- BREAKING THEIR 'DO NOT CALL LIST', what can we expect from OBAMACARE, or more gun control????  Get the same calls from telemarketers day after day, and they seem to delight in calling after you sit down to dinner!  Congress members must be getting kickbacks from these shysters!

Well, since it's actually a collections call and not a telemarketer, it doesn't "break" the do not call list.  Since the call is not for me, I don't get any further than finding out that it's a collections call.

I called the number back and discovered it's Republican Party wanting to regain the White House and both House and Senate.  You supposedly get a choice to ask questions, leave a message or have your number removed from the data base.

A man called and asked for John. I went to answer and he hung up. Sick of telemarketers. On DO NOT CALL LIST , doesnt work !

Continue to get calls from 201 537-5943.  They do not leave a number.  On the 'DO NOT CALL LIST' but that seems to work as well as the federal government NOT SPENDING FOOLISHLY!

It was the Republican Coalition.  Political organizations are exempt from the Do Not Call Registry, so they can pester you as much as they want.  The Repubs call me every freakin day.  The Dems call me every weekend.

Do you not realize that you need to register every 6 mos? And do really think the govt can manage the do not call registry? If so you are deluded...it's such a joke

I keep getting calls from this number.  He will not leave a message or a phone number where he can be reached.  Said his name is Jeff Daniel.

All I got was a beep when I answered. I reported it to do not call website.

Started getting these calls recently.  I see it identifies as being from Weehawken, NJ.
I called Tony Soprano, who lives in the area.  We won't be getting these calls anymore.

The Do Not Call registry is a total joke. I found the answer to these incessant annoyances in a relatively affordable piece of hardware called "Sentry Call Blocker." Blocks robo and solicitor calls, private name, unknown number calls. It's a great gadget and has allowed me to regain control over my landline.
