- Da kine replies to khalidEveryone keeps saying its Sally mae or the new company that took over. If you owe a federal loan and work, your wages should have been garnished by now if you didn't pay, stop paying the rehabilitation program or been not been in contact with them. I keep getting a call from this same number but the best part is the person messed up on the 9th message over a 2month period and said " da Kine". I have spoken to Sally mae before and collections for federal side do not call you from a different number except the number listed for collections. They keep calling me and when I return the calls I tell them nobody by that name uses this phone. Then they ask who am i and I say Google this number and you'll see who this cell number is listed under. I even received text messages asking for my wife and pretending to say friendly things but when I call nobody answers. When I reply saying this isn't the person you're looking for and to please stop calling/texting my phone. I have voice messages/text messages late at night. 8pm is the latest I ever received a call. The loan actually was beyond the 10year collection period but my wife went ahead and did a repayment rehibilitation program for 12months and when I found out I told her you just let the government collect money for 12 months when it was beyond the statue of limitation for debt collections. So I tasked to the collections and they said that 12 months and everything is fine. Then i requested a letter to confirm that all debt is paid and completed. My wife lost the letter so now her wages are being garnished for federal loans for the art institute in Las Vegas which she never went for more then 5 months of classes for a 2 year program. The school supposed to have refunded 1.5 years worth of money but didn't and that's one of the art institutes that had a huge sue job for thousands of students. Point is if your loans is 10 years old or older ignore and don't bother because it's not going to affect your credit rating or show up on your credit report. Even now that my wife's pay checks are being garnished it has no affect on her credit. Also, before they garnish wages when you default if you do pay back and lose a letter saying debt Paid in full. Your federal tax return will be taken every year unless your married and your spouse makes more income. They'll stop taking the tax returns and garnish wages from your paycheck. When they do garnish, you can call the collections and tell them you cannot afford the amount they're taking out and have them adjust the amount or do a repayment plan again with a brand new account and just put the amount of money you need to pay every month.
- Da kine replies to khalidHave your manager tell them to stop calling your office. If they call you again after being told not to by your manager, then you can actually to something legal about it.
